actually, i was hoping to find a chat somewhere with others who had left and how they handle some of the issues i still face... after my mother died (and all the nightmares that went along with that), i went back; now i'm dealing with an 80-something year old father whom i don't want to hurt, yet cannot go back again for fear of destroying what i've accomplished; it's a fine line i walk and sometimes it's almost overwhelming

Welcome to the forum..Newbie's-I am an oldie- This is my "Home Room" my family are all in attendance ( most days) I must commend you for your escape- But when you mention your old parent- Yes keep in touch with him I am going to be 76 in a few days. The older we are -the harder it is to leave "MOTHER" I myself would porbably never left the "Borg" if they hadnt given me the left foot of fellowship- because I dont believe Jesus came in 1914-So just continue to show him LOVE-the unconditional kind. I cant remember if you said you are DF or DA. If you are neither stay that way- else the Borg" will tell you Father NOT to let you near him.....Good Luck..( or good fortune whatever!!!
