History repeats itself. All structures built with good intentions will have similar problems, until it becomes an abomination. There is no way to fix it. Should the followers of Jesus be organized, that's the question to ask. Wherever there is a desire for “unity” then there is a leadership, history just repeats again and again.

The situation with Eric's wife seems to be a typical Ellen G. White case. With a character like that, very soon she will become more prominent and will form the foundation for a new religion for the next generation. Tested and worked before, why should it be different now...

Believers should not be gathered under one roof. They should stay wherever they live and do good, be good neighbors, shine as lights, and fulfill their mission of being the salt of the earth.

Waking - up from a high control group is traumatic & stressful enough with all the shenanigans induced by the cult in the form of ""discipline" and their shunning policies.

Then you throw on top of that dramas between people. Shouting,, bickering,, scrapping.

People who leave such abusive,, narcissistic groups tend to carry those things right out the door with them.

I've recently realised that many of us who left the JWS still carry the belief that the bible has all the answers, if only we interpret it right.

For which we believe we need to pray and ask for holy spirit, in order to understand.

Then arises the scenario, and I see this in all the ex jw groups; Hey, I understand now, because I HAVE hs! If you don't agree/understand like I do then you obv do NOT have hs!

    There's a constant them v us thinking.

Yet the Bible is a product of human writing, we're regurgitating and perpetuating the very notions and cultural beliefs that Jesus actively resisted. That's the scholarly and historical conclusion to the life and ministry of Jesus, without any religious interpretation.

    You were the chosen one!
It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them.
Bring balance to the force, not leave it in darkness!
    You were my brother, Anakin.
    I loved you.

    Becoming What You Hate

Through being so concentrated on what we despise, and trying our best to avoid becoming said thing, we inevitably become it. We lose ourselves in this spiral of hatred and resentment to such a degree that the same thing we dislike becomes ingrained into our character due to spending so much time dwelling on it.

Until people recognize that religions and domestic abusers use the same tactics to manipulate and control their victims and they need to educate themselves to identify the red flags of physiological manipulation and coercive control.

When Someone escapes from a abusive relationship or religion and the victims failed to do this they will fall into the same trap again, and get involved in another controlling religion and its beliefs or another abusive relationship.

I'm a survivor of both, a abusive and controlling marriage and a abusive and controlling religion.

Please do independent research into physiological manipulation and coercive control and you will see how all religions use these tactics to control people.

Eric Wilson's response to the situation of people that are coming forward and complaining about the abusive tactics they experienced from his "wife" is to say that by complaining they are slandering him.

Also, that it's O.K. if you don't get legally married as long as you have a "spiritual marriage".

Why is it that so many cult leaders have weird relationship issues and dysfunctional marriages?

Without knowing much about the situation, if you are not being emotionally black mailed or surrendering all your time and money to a group, you are just an idiot for allowing this to happen. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

I highly doubt every person if you circle is part of this group and it would be emotional Armageddon if you tried to walk away.
