14 .... At one point, he met with a number of local clergymen in hopes that these men would accept the truths that Russell and his associates had discovered from the Bible and teach them to members of their congregations. The clergymen were not interested.

Can you imagine, if all the clergy had stopped laughing and listened?

We would have 2000 0000 000 , all believing now.- in an overlapping anointed generation of ~ 14000 that will end before the end? -really? -is that what wt thinks should have happened?

...or 2000 0000 000 since disfellowshipped from the organization for a range of "sins", including of course apostasy.

The question arrises: most of JW's (including myself) have been told over and over what happened in 1918 en 1919. Year after year, book after book, they instructed us what to think. Even with the exact dates for example in the Revelation books. If you didn't believe these events; you could be kicked out for being apostate and "knowing it better then the brothers".

Now all changed with one mark of a pencil and absolute no questions arrised in the KH. The elderly gave answers if the new doctrine never has been different.

What's going on? Are they all lame ducks?

What is the current doctrine worth if it all can change on a Sunday morning?

    I realy can"t get that. How such a proces works - worldwide - !!!

I was still a teenager in the 70s

And I remember quite clearly being upset

    At learning and memorizing points

That were all changed in the latest issue of the Watchtower

I thought it my responsibility to know the information well

To relay it to the people I was studying with

    After all lives were involved

    Truth be told

We didn't know it then but

    We were in fact

    Playing with people's lives

    :(

Our salvation was at stake if we did not know and accept this doctrines.

It was Jesus himself that revealed this information in these last days.

Born in 1970, and never missed a meeting in my youth, can't still accept that al these hours studying these doctrines were worthless.

    It makes me so sad.

these abstract details were the shibboleth, the pure language that meant life or death. I am 60 years at this, seen through the thin veneer since the Superior Authority flop. it is getting worse.

Paul Grundy should have a good time dealing with all these changes on JWFacts. I have no idea how he keeps up. It seems that nearly every couple of months there is another little tweak - just enough to be noticeable for some of us. Because many JWs are busy trying to keep from falling asleep during KH meetings, they will probably not even notice the changes and just go with the flow. Then in a year or two, they'll all be asking each other: "When did that teaching change?"

Juan, that is why we are so inconvenient, so dangerous to the wt, because we can see every new light is another admission of wt failure.

    @ tepidpoultry...

I'm assuming your post was made on a portable device, yeah?

The formatting makes it look like free-verse poetry.

I actually kinda liked reading it that way.

Unless, of course you did it that way on purpose.

    If so, well done.
