Thankful I live in SC where we are pretty much back to normal now. My family in NY is another story!

I'll throw in another $25 to a local shelter on Trump for anyone willing to take the bet. His ratings are good, pretty much on par but much less fluctuating than Obama's or any other President, that means voters believe he is consistent (regardless which direction you stand on him).
On the other hand you have Biden, do you really think the 'security moms' and suburbia in general will want a President that stands with Antifa protesters against the police, bends the knee on television for the flag and on a better day acts like a creepy, hair-sniffing child molester?
Trump definitely has a chance of losing, but he's proven his economic skills and withstood many trials by fire. All he has to do is point at Biden and run some ads about the comparisons. The other thing Biden doesn't have is a good track record, again, another thing Trump can say: well, you had your 200 years in politics, what have you ever done?
The last problem for Biden is that he lost his only claim to 'good' records since the left wing has reversed on every one of their own policies that Biden signed (90s crime bill and forced bussing), even his current platform is talking about the middle class which the far-left has rejected has any claim to their wealth.
Biden seems like the politician that got left in the 20th century to me, I think a lot of people on both sides of the aisle think that and his VP pick will probably undermine most of what he stands for and his support base.

I’ve learned from covid that a lot of jobs are bullshit and are not needed. I think the owners of the companies have realized that they can be just as or more profitable with less staff.
In my small company I’ve learned over the last 2 months of the lockdown (essential service) how to be much more efficient with less labour.
I hate to shit in Simon’s cornflakes but I don’t see a speedy economic recovery. Restaurants, airlines, hotels and brick and mortar stores are going to have a hard time climbing out of the abyss. Now that businesses realize that some of their employees prefer working from home commercial real estate will take a hit. Some people like their $2000.00 a month covid check from Trudeau so will also be reluctant to return to the workforce.

Anyone else feel like it's going to be boom times for the next 5-10 years?
Not if Trump doesn't win re-election.

I believe there will be a big collapse in commercial real estate. Many employers have come to the realization they no longer need many office buildings. They can cut some people that may not be necessary and allow others to work from home. My employer is getting rid of many office buildings. They realized how productive people are from home and want to enjoy some massive savings.

I think the concerning question is whether or not a reliable and effective vaccine is introduced, if it does and its distributed quickly, we would see pretty much all restrictions removed making way for economies revive .
Stop and consider all the hotels all over the world and the people who work within that industry , then you have the airline industry.
Plain and simple there are a lot of people out of work right now.

I even saw a poll that showed him rising with black voters
Yes, apparently up to 41% with black voters in the latest Rasmussen poll. There's obviously a big divide with the black community - those that want jobs and law and order vs those that want to live in the past and on benefits.
I work for a huge healthcare Corp where many are losing there jobs! Myself being one who is displaced because my office closed. Covid is a crock of shit! Sorry not sorry!
Yes, the media portrayal doesn't match the medical impact and so the pandemic has actually been damaging to healthcare because it has reduced overall demand for services and put a halt to regular operation.
I think it's also show the health systems and experts to be a bit clueless and incompetent. Few people practice medicine, they just follow flowcharts and the guidance has bounced around like a pinball machine. The experts have not been inspiring.
The other thing Biden doesn't have is a good track record
Yeah, the only thing he has is a "long service record" but saying you've been part of government for 43 years at the same time that you're claiming "systemic racism in the system" is a clear own-goal. He's put his name on every crime-bill that is often a source of grievance for the black community too. Hard to understand why any would vote for him.
That's before his now obvious issues with dementia and corruption he was involved with in the Obama administration to enrich his family at US tax-payers expense.
I don’t see a speedy economic recovery. Restaurants, airlines, hotels and brick and mortar stores are going to have a hard time climbing out of the abyss.
Restaurants will need to change because if you're going to have social distancing that means less covers and the profits were already wafer thin. We try to eat out at our local restaurants regularly to support them and tip well, to support the wait staff too.
I don't think airlines can handle social distancing in the current setup and it almost makes no sense (if you're stuck in a metal tube with other people for 8 hours, what difference does it really make). One thing could be that prices rise to allow for fewer occupied seats (which could all then be comfortable!), so fewer people travel and it is less accessible for all. Having fewer people jetting around is surely what the environmentalists want and airlines used to exist in this setting years ago before the cut-price industry took off.
Commercial real-estate is going to take a hit because who wants or needs offices when people can work better remotely. Sometimes it means 2 hours a day of not commuting which is like getting an entire extra day+ of productivity work each week (or reduced, energy-sapping, wasted time). It won't be universal, but there are already big companies saying they won't have big centralized offices because they have seen how things can work remotely.
I think the future is smaller satellite offices with people maybe working 2-3 days a week there or at home. This will have a hit on cars, local transit and so on as more people may be able to bike to work or at least won't be making long trips. It should also hit useless middle management - the people that exist just to pass messages up and down the chain and check that people are working, a holdover from legacy setups.
I think only local stores have suffered a lot, but they may also benefit from the desire to now buy locally and support communities and for people to get out in their local town away from the big crowds of big stores. Who knows, I hope they thrive and people stop buying so much cheap shit from China.

Hydroxychloroquine is not working as to this new guardian article.
It's benefits are apparently as a preventative / prophylactic and used in combination with other drugs as a treatment. It sound like they were deliberately running a trial to make it appear not to work.
This is the problem now - too many of so called "medical experts" are playing politics and are happy and willing to see people die so they can score political points.
