nonJW Christians have many and varied interpretations of who or what the Antichrist is. But the President of the Watchtower Society (died 1916) never specifically identified a person or thing as the Antichrist. The current WTS dances around but says that apostates leaving the organization become part of the Antichrist (although the WTS also teaches that it is possible for apostates to leave their beliefs and return). Reporting not supporting.

Duran, the book of Revelation contradicts everyone Jesus spoke of and stood for, namely, non violent resistance, no swords, no blood shed.

He entered Jerusalem on a mare donkey with her colt foal at foot, the least military looking King in history, he preached peace and he lived peace. In direct contrast to returning Roman conquerors, on their war horses and chariots, with their prisoners in tow.

    Did Jesus change his mind?

Or did Bible writers change their Jesus?

If this is the definition for JWs then the watchtower article in question would be correct. It's unlikely that an 'apostate' as defined by JW holds any significant teaching position.

    Matthew 25:31-33,41

    Matthew 13:41-43

So, you can pick and choose what/when to accept what is written?

Regardless, there is no contradiction, his follows are to always be peaceful.

Halcon, you forget the days around 1980 and 1981, when the WTS considered there was a "nest" of apostates in the midst of Bethel, and heads rolled right and left, starting with Ray Franz and the one in charge of the school for missionaries. You might enjoy this (1 hour long) There have always been times when "those in charge" forget they are in their positions as long as they agree privately and publicly with everything the WTS says and prints. Throughout WTS history, those who spoken up in positions of authority, found out who was really in charge and it was not Jehovah and Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pU60dPdqTKI

Duran, you and I will never agree because you quote the Bible as your absolute truth, and I used to as well, until I did some research.

    I respect your faith.

Ty Blondie, while this is interesting it's also unlikely that these 'apostates' now also deemed Antichrist by JW would be accepted back into teaching positions altho not impossible.

Has the preterist interpretation of end-time prophecies ever been thoroughly discussed in this forum?

    Vanderhoven and KerryKing,

How would you explain the following: "And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming." (2 Thess. 2:8 ESV)

    For context:

[3 Let no one lead you astray in any way, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction. 4 He stands in opposition and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he sits down in the temple of God, publicly showing himself to be a god. 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you, I used to tell you these things? 6 And now you know what is acting as a restraint, so that he will be revealed in his own due time.7 True, the mystery of this lawlessness is already at work, but only until the one who is right now acting as a restraint is out of the way. 8 Then, indeed, the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will do away with by the spirit of his mouth and bring to nothing by the manifestation of his presence. 9 But the lawless one’s presence is by the operation of Satan with every powerful work and lying signs and wonders 10 and every unrighteous deception for those who are perishing, as a retribution because they did not accept the love of the truth in order that they might be saved. 11 That is why God lets a deceptive influence mislead them so that they may come to believe the lie, 12 in order that they all may be judged because they did not believe the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness.]
