    Hi Sirona,

I studied Buddhism for ten years prior to becoming a JW and they were amongst the happiest of my life. How I got involved in Dubdum is beyond me

Since leaving the collective I've been taking stock of where I am and animistic pantheism suits me perfectly.

Did you know LT stayed with me after the Fest? He's a swell guy. I can listen to anyone's beliefs now and am no longer judgemental.

It was lovely meeting you - sorry we didn't have more time to talk. Enjoyed your singing. When's your album out?

    Dansk,

My journey to paganism was via buddhism (sort of...I never was buddhist but I agreed with a lot of it).

Yes I knew LT stayed with you. I wish I'd gotten chance to speak to more people, its such a shame. I was (and am) still reeling from my Wicca thing on Saturday so I guess I was boring everyone with that. Nevermind.

Thanks, it was great meeting you. Whens my album out? HA HA! I never said I could sing..... I just enjoy singing..... Simon is so going to embarress me I didn't realise he was videoing the whole thing.... ARGH.

    Please have mercy.

Sirona, I know women are supposed to lie about their age, but that's ridiculous!

    LOL FunkyDerek,

I don't want to put my date of birth in...so Simon's board thinks I'm still a twinkle in my daddys eye. Actually, as you will no doubt see, that is my mental age.

We have friends that are pagan - and the beliefs are quite logical (for a Christian brain here).

Have you been to the pagan fest in Somerset at the end of the summer - Mill Farm - let us know. We have met up with alot of pagans who gather at this time, and find them very interesting and friendly people, who are in no way oppresive like Christians - and life seems easy.

Some things seem a little strange, but doesn't everything when you know a little about it.

    Hi Nightwarrior,

No I haven't been there but I do intend to travel down to Stone Henge for the summer solstice. Presumably you mean Autumn time for this gathering? Let me know more.

The pagan beliefs are sometimes considered logical, but that depends who you're talking to LOL. Some of it just cannot be analysed which takes some getting used to!

hey Sirona! and anyone else interested! Have you read Wren's essay 'Six of Lies'--this weeks offering on Witch's Voice? Excellent article that I think was inspired by the flaming witch wars about 'ancient' Wicca. Very good essay and soemthing we can all learn and apply to MANY aspects of life... here is the link:

    Hey Robdar!

I understand perfectly what you believe--very similar to what I believe!

I think Oberon was just using the Bible as a common ground to put JWs in their place--they can't argue with their own authority! LOLOLOLOL Anyway, as a book the Bible is as valid as any other myth, it is just a Hebrew myth. So I think that there is atleast a chance that things APPEARED to be the way it was written to that particular group of people who wrote it--when they wrote it. All myth has some element of reality or else it is not useful to the ones who use it to explain their own realities...

I just think it is interesting that even Hebrew myth does not cover all the escape routes....

and yes absolutely! they were deeply influenced by Babylonian and Persian mythos---a fascinating study! one I recommend highly!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to this thread. Work got in the way.

Sirona, I want to know everything I can about it. I'd ask Chris more but he is either at school or out with his friends. He is only 19 but has been into this since he was about 12, so he says.

I was just on the phone with my sister Laurie and was telling her that I was considering this and she said that she believes that may be what my niece is into. She said she has been using crystals and things. Could it be she is?

Anyway, I want to know if there are classes you can take to learn about this, or do I just do it on my own. How would I set up and alter, etc.

Rayvn, I read that post of yours and it made sense to me. I've always wondered how Cain found a wife when they were supposed to be the only people on earth and one of the questions I asked when I was studying to become a JW, was why Adam and Eve didn't die when they ate of the tree.

If any of you live in the US, I would be more than happy to call you to talk about this.

    Thanks, Shari

Dansk, it was the "Reasoning from the scriptures" book. Didn't you know that? That book told us how to approach those of other beliefs.
