I've been to Athens and saw all the tourist sights it had to offer. I've heard the black sand on Santorini is pretty kewl to see....

If you haven't tried ouzo, don't slam it back like a shot -- sip it. It's liquid fire with an anise flavor.
Maybe he should watch MY Big Fat Greek Wedding. If that is what that stuff does to you. Look out!

Yassou Englishman!
Learn a few Greek phrases and the locals will love you. Or at least, that was our experience. It also helps to be from Australia - every Greek has a cousin living in Melbourne, LOL!
I wish I could go with you. It's been more than 3 years since I had a decent holiday.

Been to Paleokastritsa on our honeymoon 11 years ago. We were staying in a resort called Dassia near Corfu town.
Corfu Towns a place you should visit, Kassiopi which is near Paleokastritsa is great too.
We hire a motorbike to explore the Island for a couple of day's. Paleokastritsa is the great, we wished we had booked to stay there instead of the noisey place we had stayed at.
Tell you more about it a your BBQ.

Hi Nina. I remember you having said you were part Greek. My Father was also from a village in the mountains around Sparta. His village was Pappari. Where was your Grandmother born? My Dad's village now has paved streets.. hehehh. THe price of progress!
Have a good time on your island! You'll love it, I'm sure. Looking forward to going one day myself.

Hi Englishman
Well what a coincidence my husband and i will be in Corfu also on the the 22nd July, My Daughter Claire lives there.
She lives in Kato Garuna a small village near Agios Gordios,i think thats how you spell it. When we first went i thought i died and gone to heaven. My Daughter is a singer on the island and i am sure she has worked at the place you are going.
She is married to a lovely Greek man and they a baby now. Claires husband is well known on the island for his Greek dancing which includes spinning a table round with his teeth, the food is excellant, ouzo by the buket full and plenty of entertainment you will love it.
A great place to eat out is at Stevens on the Hill, especially on Monday nights it's Pizza night.
Here's wishing you a great holiday.

Mike,
That pic is NOTHING compared to the beautiful blue hues of the Mediteranean. You know that deep blue in those pictures of Greece? It's real, I've seen it myself. I was in the Greek Isles this time 10 years ago. The scenery is beautiful.
Hope you & HL have a wonderful time.
