Since there is no such thing as a Watchtower prediction or promise...
The only problem with the doctrines are in the past, during the Rutherford, Knorr and Franz days, they wanted to be better and more righteous than everyone else. That is why they made no birthdays into a religious issue. That is why they were pharisaical on many issues without any direct Bible prohibitions such as no-blood. They say we go out in the door to door work because that is what Jesus did. Well, Jesus had no other alternative.

No birthdays.
No holidays.
No Mothers Day. No Fathers Day.
This has worked for the Borg for decades. It continues to work.
Not only for the $$$ of income that would be lost.
But I think most of importance,,, is the attention these holidays shift away from the Borg.

This way they can use the escape,,, weasel,, wimp out excuse and say that you thank mothers & fathers everyday & not just once per year.
You can get presents throughout the year,,, not just Xmas & birthdays.
You can be thankful for everyday & not just Thanksgiving.
Typical wimpy out clause.
Perfect business model,,, it works & will continue to work.
That way JWs can cheap out from treating family/ friends

Couldn't the same logic be applied to their once-a-year memorial? Why show of for a once-a-year event when you can celebrate Christ's death everyday if you so choose?

Light from Jehovah grows brighter, building on the previous light, like a dimmer switch on a lamp that makes the light brighter as you add to the power.
But that is not what the GB do. They are constantly replacing previous light that they say came from Jehovah, with new light that they say also came from Jehovah. True light from Jehovah would never be replaced, because it is never wrong. True light from Jehovah is a foundation of understanding that is built upon and added to, not replaced, proving that the "new light" from the GB does not come from Jehovah.
