Calling all Writers

  Have you written or are you writing a book?

  I know a few people here have written books. I just found out about Thunder's book.

  I am working on a book of poetry based on some of the poems on my web site with pictures added. It is autobiographical and addresses the abuse in my life and my recovery process. I had it for sale for a while at Booklocker as an e-book. Now I want it in print.

  I am also working on a book about abuse recovery. That has been in the works for a while

  And due to some encouragement I am gathering some of my writings to make a book about recovery from cults - the JWs specifically.

  And on the back burner is an autobiography. I keep stopping work on it.

  Anyone other writers out there that want to go public and get published?

  Well, now that I've finally begun getting on my feet writing-wise, I'm trying my best to write a new book, but I'll definitely keep you posted!

  How did you make the decision to either self-publish or go the traditional route?

  How did/do you stay motivated?

  Where do you get your ideas from? How?

  I have been working on a book for a couple of years now. It's called "The Athiests Book of Bible Stories (Finally some chicken soup for the athiest soul)".

  I don't imagine I will ever be able to legally use the subtitle, but I like it. Anyway, a few of the chapters have been published (one on paper, the others on the internet), and I have received a few encouraging comments.

  My son, who is now 16, has actually written four novels. He is trying to get one of them published.

  SheilaM has several books in the works. She just has so many other hobbies that she spends little time working on them. She is currently working on a romance novel and a story about a woman in Nazi Germany. What she has done so far is great, she just needs to schedule time to write more often.

  I've written a novel, I'm currently working on contacting agents to represent it. Thanks to Thunder Rider I have a back up plan if the traditional method doesn't work out. I'm working on another one and have ideas for a couple more.

  LadyLee: I find it much easier to tout Thunder than myself I can't believe you hadn't seen the banner on this site, for his novel LOL I think we need to change it. LOL

  Thunder is in the middle of book 2. He also has some poetry and short stories going.

  I myself dream very vividly. A lot of my work comes from that. I also formulate everything before ever putting pencil to paper. I write better in pencil in a notebook than on the computer GO FIGURE. I also have learned a lot from Stephen Kings "On Writing" and John Shultz "Writing from start to finish". Also my advisor has a doctorate and studied in Chicago with him. She has been a source of inspiration.

  I am a much better muse to Thunder than myself. All the encouragement growing up I guess.
