    Lady Lee,

I am older than you, therefore older than dirt, but I don't remember soldering irons heated on a gas burner or the car heater mounted inside of the firewall (probably just not interested), however I have to admit I remember all 25 of the quiz (plus Blue Chip stamps - do you remember those, or were they only a western item?) I do remember sprinkler bottles AND kerosene stove and heater - my mother was so-o-o-o-o happy when the apartment building converted to gas!

25xYup! plus, streetcars being the most modern form of public transportation.

Buying chicken at a poultry shop where you picked out the live chicken and could take it home live or they would kill, pluck, gut, and custom wrap while you waited. They also sold fresh eggs.

Besides the newsreels, most movie theatres had dish night once a week and gave one or two peices to each adult. Grandma got a complete place setting for 12.

Plush furniture was stuffed with real horse hair and the carpet in the living room was made of 100% wool.

I remember them all except I do not know what a P.F. Flyers is. Might be a wagon. I am only 59 but I remember all those things and farming with horses. My school was one room with all 8 grades in one room. There was no kindergarten and we had 2 out houses and a well for water and an oil burner space heater. My patents had all that except they heated the school with a coal or wood burner.

At home we had the oil space heater but we really heated with a cob burner in the kitchen with a blanket over the door to the living room. The house had no electricity, no running water, and no place to sit except a kitchen chair at the table or on a bed.

It was like camping only we stayed.

I remember each and everything you mention in your entire post. Everything. Including a two-holer. My grandfather had 8 rooms and path.

Your post made me remember so many other things, too. And just as soon as this depression wears off , I'll make a post about them.
