Do Jehovah’s Witnesses use mind control? The B. I. T. E. model clearly shows that yes WT/JWs are a cult!

Thanks to Heaven’s Gate, the Hare Krishnas, and 80s Satanic panic, the “cult” label’s become too overused, I think.

I prefer the term “authoritarian high-control group”.

More accurate, and way harder to refute, IMO.

Jehovah's Witnesses claim to be a Christian religion, but the their core doctrine is salvation through obedience to 8 men in New York and not the blood of Jesus.

Events like weddings and funerals etc are primarily seen by the JW's as occasions to proselytize heavily to a captive audience rather than give an uplifting talk about someone's life/marriage etc...

    CARLA:

Everything you said is true. I will add something else. I was not raised a JW, so at least I have pleasant memories from childhood with the Holidays and other normal things that people do.

But, when I got involved with the Witnesses years later, they wanted me to stop associating with my family and relatives. They also wanted me to get rid of ‘worldly’ friends. They said I would get ‘better’ friends there. Not true.. I made conditional acquaintances as far as I was concerned! The religion also tried (in vain) to get me to quit my full time job. I would not be retired if I had listened to these people!!!

I am sure your husband will not admit to you that there are many ‘needy’ in the religion because they fell for pressure to not get careers or plan for retirement because ‘Armageddon’ was coming to save them. Problem is they reached retirement age first.

When almost every JW family is either shunning or at war with at least one member of their family. This religion has caused more dysfunctionality and division within the family arrangement than any other religion on the surface of this earth. They try to justify the practice by quoting Jesus, but his words have been twisted. Jesus did not command believers to other family members. His words indicate that non-believers would decide to stop being brotherly to believers - not the opposite.

Please take some time and list the number of families you have known who now have one member marked or shunned. It should be an eye-opener.

Every WT study demonstrates this perfectly.

    High Level Control:

Try going to a few meetings without underlining your watchtower - how long will it be before someone grasses you up and the elders request a visit to 'encourage' you!!!
