No, they don't care that their belief structure is based on the shaky foundations of renegade adventism and pyramidology , among other things.

Nothing that we present as happened in the old days is considered relevant . They would say that God chose those people, warts and all, and shaped them into the organization that we see today.

As Chhok succintly said, they hardly care about last year ,let alone the century before last.

They're "pass" on the past is the "New Light" philosophy. Truth is not important. Only obedience to the organization.

I recently chatted online (through a FB alias account) to a current JW. When I started telling her stories about some of the things Russel said and did, she told me it mattered not to her, since "the first JW goes way back to Abel, not Russel".

    So there you go.

Some may have read the whitewashed version in the Proclaimers book...but most are satisfied I'm sure with, the "fact" that Jehovah now has cleansed His organization from previous errors....

This is how it was explained to me growing up that the early Bible Students practised things that were not scriptural in the beginning but that the light gets brighter and that is why they did away with these false teachings. Although this gets back to, if the WT is spirit directed how can they make mistakes in the first place?

I once asked my mother about the early Millarite influence on the early Bible Student movement but she was not aware of this either.

I would say, No, today's Witnesses are appallingly ignorant about the early history of their religion. In fact, I doubt many could even intelligently explain current beliefs.

Maybe some of the old timers are knowledgeable about its early history, but not younger Witnesses. The sense I get is that they don't CARE (and don't think they need to care) what they are supposed to believe or what the religion teaches or has taught in the past!

Since the literature is reduced and dumbed-down plus constantly changed teachings, the general "belief" is some sort of vague hazy area.

It is all emotional now and a club and giant clique and this is what keeps the current members in.
