I will repeat. I was TOLD that Simon was anti-US and that's why I've avoided these threads. Plus, this particular thread was an opinion poll, it isn't specifically about any war.
No, I wouldn't get bent out of shape over it as I've demonstrated several times (in fact, look at the other topic). To do so would be DUMB and make me look like AN IDIOT !
Until I got my first taste of prejudice in my face long term, not a comment or an event, where I was unpopular but because of who I am, the color of my skin, and where I am from, people were hostile and rude to me. People in stores would not even wait on me. They asked me to leave to store. It was on the Big Island. I was a howley and after several days (weeks) of it I was very glad to leave there. But, I never forgot it. Black people and minorities who complain about societies treatment of them are right on. All I can say is every time I feel the bigot bone in me I recall those memories. If you were labled long term Simon even over something stupid to you in your comfort zone, you would not have the same attitude.
Simon-
Whoever you quoted didn't even give a good analogy. British people wouldn't have gotten upset if American's had talked about "it's cold and rainy ALL THE TIME, and that ALL Brits have bad teeth and drink too much", and we wouldn't cared if you had been talking about American cheese nor American clothing!! Those are trivial! No one cares about that BS! Complaining about our foreign policy is a bit more important that how much tea you drink .
SP I don't think that you go far enough. The demand is that the US has something to appologize to Europe about. It ain't gona happen. They are part of the problem not the solution. Bush may not be the solution but removing Saddam and lifting santions rebuiling that country and letting it rejoin the world as a free nation no doubt is definatly the solution for that Nation. It is also a beaken and warning for others.
""All of these are facts. Many of the things people post here about the USA are facts. If you don't like the facts, then get involved in politics and stop your country acting like that.
Oh, I love Yeru's wonderful isolationist policy; my country right or wrong, doesn't care what the rest of the world thinks. Totalitarianly silly. Like, grow up. We share the same planet, however much you want to ignore the FACT.
I also think I could duplicate ThiChi with a program;""
Your personal attacks are uncalled for (though I doubt Simon will do anything about it).
Yeru's comments only point to reason and he asks us to consider all information, not just the stuff that is posted here.
To claim that only facts have been used here in retaliation to the US is mind boggling. Too bad your claim does not stand up to reality. Calling our statesmen "killers" or "War criminals" or the US does not give enough "Aid," are just a few of the examples that can be debated and won.
Unlike you, I will give an example:
Take the WMDs. Some here have made the charge Bush just "Made it up" to use a a pretext to invade Iraq. However, the facts show that the UN, EU and others never disputed the same information that Bush had and used. See the lack of context or the facts of the matter? It only takes one example to show you up for what you are lacking, the truth of the matter.
Since you took a swipe at my thinking abilities without citing any support or examples, shows your hand. You are pathetic.
danny,
well i stated that the european govs had similar motives to the bush admin.
and yes the US covered its tracks very well in some parts of the world (namely central europe).
I will repeat. I was TOLD that Simon was anti-US and that's why I've avoided these threads.
So you are just repeating that accusation without knowing all the facts yourself and reading what he has said in context of the threads concerned.
So again does being anti war = anti american?
Yes this thread is about a poll and a tv program that is on tonight - it is topical to the discussions that have taken place here lately and that is why Simon posted it and also to let people know its on and they can watch it if they wish.
SIMON DID NOT WRITE OR DESIGN THE POLL so how doesit have anything to do with him apart from the fact he posted a link to it.
Realist, Did you know that the Iraqi museum was not looted? I really want to help you feel better.
An- You are good at twisting word. See again someone even avoiding a serial thread theme is now evidence used to call anti war people victims. Truly pathetic.
If this is not a war thread then why do you keep hounding? it [the war theme] Unless the thread always carried that theme over from Simons last threads.
Simon is a pathological poster of US mudslinging. But that is not against the rules as long as he is doing it. It is becoming a favorite euro pastime.
bigotry is bliss.
Jayson,
interesting...i just read yesterday that 10.000 artifacts were stolen and are missing. and many excavation sites were ruined.
SIMON DID NOT WRITE OR DESIGN THE POLL so how doesit have anything to do with him apart from the fact he posted a link to it.
Ang, I think that is what everyone is referring to. Why did Simon even bother posting it? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Simon post a while back that he wasn't going to post anything else about America and then did it anyway? I could be wrong but I think I saw that somewhere.
