Poll suggests world hostile to US......
I wonder why?
God bless America
danny,
reality check#2: why did hitler gain control? because of WWI and the fact that germany got screwed by the allies. without the US no hitler hence no WWII and no cold war.
How do you think the USA can best restore the loss of confidence American foreign policy has generated?
the leaders of the other countries already knew that the US gov. is full of shit. And they are full of shit too. Did Schroeder care about the iraqis? did chirac care? or putin??? the answer is within a 99.99999% confidence interval NO!
the only difference is that for maybe the first time the world public saw the US gov. for what it really is... an aggregation of f******* lying a**holes.

Simon,
Your posts are all right. If they are controversial, so what? A lot of people want to be apologized to and feel good as if they really accomplished something. Simply tell them to deal with the post and work it out themselves. Too many people are out to win a popularity contest or look for recognition. Tell them to go back to high school. You can't please people all the time and you should not have to!. After all, how many skeletons are in the closets of all of the participants? I'll bet a lot more than we will ever know or care to!
If many of the people on this forum have been through the WTB&TS, surely they can deal with controversial posts and opinions and statements on the extreme.
All of your posts have been within the guidelines. I never read the guidelines anyway. I try to keep it civil. If people are so easily offended, they should just go away and cry in the corner as this forum is no place for them and they are not ready for reality.
If things get out of hand, hit the delete button! Other than that, carry on!

Well, Englishman, I don't think the Irish like you all very much. And if the English gummint came along and took my property and gave it to some Imperial General for a job well done in service to the Crown in the Jewel in the Crown, and then that general rented my land and my home back to me, I'd hate him and you too. Personally, I think the Brits should leave Northern Ireland, now that you ask.
Seems to me I remember the British not doing too well with the native population in any of its colonies. Of course WE got over your boarish behavior once we taught you all some lessons, some of which some of you have forgotten as I notice some here seem to have made a life-time hobby of America bashing, to wit: "Yeah, y'all saved our bacon, but you made us wait 'n' stuff 'n' we STILL resent that."
Frankly, my opinion is that we're going to have to band together and act together or we're going to be awash in a sea of orientals who can and DO have an innate tendency toward cooperation one with another. How come you think the red mongolian race came across the Siberian land bridge of long ago? Right, the yellow man RAN him across it. So play nice.
Mr Kim,

Your a funny guy!

Realist,
****the only difference is that for maybe the first time the world public saw the US gov. for what it really is... an aggregation of f******* lying a**holes.****
"Maybe for the first time"......you mean to say we covered our tracks that well for the last 228 yrs? Thanks we try.
Oh and yeah France, Russia, and Germany had very little interest in maintaining the millions of cold hard cash streaming in from Sadam, for thier help in providing Sadam with the latest technology as respects chemical and conventional arms. Sure they had little if any interest.

teejay; Yes teejay, most non-Americans would kill to live in
Uh... that would be AFTER.
If you're talking about much of the developing world, then no contest, they'd probably be eager to move to the , or some European or Antipodean country.
But us Europeans are generally quite happy where we are, and safer.
Of course. Most people would rather stay at or close to home. (See my above response to Eman’s revelation that relatives of his turned down an offer to work here.) Still, that doesn’t alter the fact that most of the people answering the poll don’t know (from actual experience) what the hell they’re talking about. That’s why I say my fellow Americans should take foreign opinion polls with a barrel of salt. Heck, they should take home-grown opinion polls the same way.
Yes, but they were not asking people how well they knew the USA, just what they thought of it, whether they considered it a threat etc ...
They do not have to live there or visit to do that as it's based on what the USA does to them.
What would you expect to learn about what other countries think of the US by taking "home-grown" opinion polls? That's just "heads in the sand" stuff.
