Out of the blue, an Elder from a distant congregation called wondering if I could make it to a Kingdom all build/remodel!

I was on the drywall team and not been to a build for about 2-3 years.I was at the time on my way out "da Troof".

I was taken back by his request! It sounded like they had not got enough workers to Volunteer. I remember it being difficult for overseers of departments (having a relatives on two) to get anyone to reply back to the invitation letters.

Anyway after about a minute or so of trying to think of a way to explain my situation, I said that I wasn't on the team anymore. He wondered if I would like to do this one has a one off! I listened to him almost pleading for help for another minute or so. I then filled him in on my position. "I don't think I qualify, I haven't been to a meeting in nearly a Year" I explained! He didn't know quite what to say, poor fellow. He sounded thrown by it, either that or he may have wondered if to carry on the conversation, probably thinking I maybe DA or DF. All he then said was that he was sorry and then goodbye!

    That was that! ..........

    Nearly,

The district overseeer asked me if my daughter - Vivamus - was willing to join Bethel for historical investments - cause she is a history student - and at that time she was df-ed.

He did'nt know that and was very surprised.

    Hi Qwerty

other half was phoned a few weeks ago by the assembly hall overseer as they had a problem and wondered if he was willing to sort it for them. This despite knowing our situation ie no meetings for about 2 years.

We actually felt sorry for him as he is a very nice person. One of the more reasonable ones.

Coutry Woman----you should have signed her up...then we would have an inside source. Think of all the havoc she coulda raised.

qwerty---- I wonder if he actually did know but just really needed the help. Maybe hoping you had "repented" and was looking to do good deeds to get back in. Then again maybe they don't communicate very good with other congs. ahh well who knows. I think you did just fine. I like leaving people speechless.

LOL, I wish they had got to that state of affairs, having to ask a losers as one Elder calls folk that turn there back on the WTS!

I think they still look for JW's who are in good standing!.......I don't think I count in their eyes.
