Bendrr...that was a real tough one.

You did the honourable thing, and the SMART thing.

You're damn straight you not only could have lost your job over this, but it could have proved far more serious.

I have known fights to end in manslaughter (accidental death). It's not worth it.

Jerry has proven himself, that he is incapable of working with others.

You are to commended and respected for how you handled this delicate situation. It could have gotten real ugly, messy and you actually showed WHO was the real man in this situation.

If Jerry thinks life is settled at the end of a fist, or weapon: we know that the definition of LOSER, will apply to him.

I take my hat off to you Bendrr (Mike).

I too am a bit concerned about how things will turn out on Monday. I hope that your safety is paramount, and that this firecracker hot-headed jack-ass is told in no uncertain terms, to stay away from the workplace, you and your family.

If he pulls any tricks, call the police.

Be careful, be safe, and be here on Monday night to let us know how things went.

I'll be thinking about you. Really. This has my stomach in knots bud.

being on the "other side of the counter" i have my conflics with the guys in the shop.

one of them, like yours, is a younger person, early 20's.

my personal opinion of him i try to put aside, i just get really fired up that he takes advatage, walks like a Pioneer and always has his hands in his pokets. he's not in my dept, so i have no control over him, other than that if he steps out of line when his manager is not around, i have the authority to take matters in my own hands.

this guy gets his rocks off by pushing people to the edge, and pissing us off.

he will come to the counter 15 times for one oil change. if he's working on something that needs electrical connectors like butt connecters and terminal ends, he will get them one at a freakin time.

finally one day a couple of months ago he pullled this and i just had it. i blew up and walked away from him yelling, thats it. he got no more service from me that day, or week, if he walked up to the counter i would walk away and leave him waiting, for the next available guy to help him. i dont exchange pleasantries with him and now i've grown hard to his crap.

many times the guys in the shop and myself haqve said, one of these days someone will get so pissed off that they will knock him out, after all he NEEDS a good beating. but not by me. i KNOW I COULD WOOP HIS ASS EVEN IF HE IS HALF MY AGE. but my brain and smarts says dont do it, let someone else.

tensions can run high in our business and best if you dont let it get the best of you. walking away does not make you weeker. it makes you smarter and strongs.

someday my nemisis will get his! yours may get his tommorow. on that day i will smile and as he leaves tell him what a !@#$%^&* he is.

i admire your ability to not get violent. it takes everything we have inside of us because, you just know if you wooped his @$$ he would straighten out. but you can't. so dont. woop his brain instead. it screws kids like that all up and they learn more valuable lessons in life that way.

    my 2 cents.

Bendrr: how did things go yesterday?

Wondering how things have gone since you started this post.

    Hoping for the best.

This might seem a little permature, but I would make some kind of police report or an official report at work about his threats, that way when he is fired and if he does become violent then you have even more ground to stand on when you defend yourself.

I've been a super and this can be very upsetting, all I can say is cover your ass any way you can.....documentation,documentation. If nothing is done to your satisfaction then go over someone's head to you find the right person, most employers hope this kind of thing will just burn itself out, they don't want to deal with it.

Keep your chin up and your attitude mellow.
