How Would You Prove To A JW That They Are Wrong?

JWs are avowed sales representatives for the commercial false prophets who lead the Watchtower Corporation.

    Two things:

    1. So many people are realising JWs don’t have the truth, they are leaving, and getting on with their lives. Haven’t you noticed? Even the ones still in don’t believe it any more.

    2. Nowadays information is too widespread for Watchtower to be credible any more. Experts have debunked Watchtower chronology and 1914 for example. The only reason Watchtower has kept it in the face of all the evidence is because they don’t know how to drop it without undermining their own authority.

Don Cameron's book 'Captives of a Concept'.

Wonderful book. Matt 24:45-47 the parable of 'the faithful and discreet slave class'. This 'parable' is what keeps the Dubs 'captive' in this organization. It is only 'that', a 'parable' and not a prophesy.

It was in this book, 'Captives of a Concept'. which and elder made a very, very interesting comment/observation. He related to the sentiment that ''he would rather live a life of a lie, rather than accepting the fact that he was duped''. That book was a very, very interesting read. It's reassuring to know there are good people like Don Cameron who can escape the Dubland fantasy and write a book like this.

Sorry Min, not had time to read the whole thread, but my method of late has been to simply ask them to prove to me that they are right, that they have "the truth".

This saves all the debate, trying to get them to think, and trying to get them to consider real evidence, and to realize that their "evidence" is no such thing.

Thus far, not one J.W has attempted to prove their religion.

Weird that, with all their arrogant claims for it.

You cant, but I have been waiting to ask a JW this question.

My kid is 10 years old. How old would her kids have to be before it was OK to wonder if the GB may have no idea what "the generations" mean?

First of all you need them to tell you what would prove it is wrong to them:

"What would the WTS have to do to convince you that it wasn't the truth"

They may come up with "nothing", i.e. they have complete faith / belief in them, in which case, there really is nothing you can do to convince them. Walk away and leave them to their delusion.

Otherwise, tell them about the things they've done that show it is an organization of men protecting it's own financial interests with no divine inspiration.

Matt 24:45-47 the parable of 'the faithful and discreet slave class' and preaching of the good news.

Well I don't think Jesus would approve of preaching a false tainted commercialized version of his Gospel for money or otherwise.

'Otherwise, tell them about the things they've done that show it is an organization of men protecting it's own financial interests with no divine inspiration.'

There was a subtle 'hint' in the July 28,2018 days text a few days ago. Again they admitted 'they are not inspired NOR infallible'. The February 2017 WT also touched on that 'not inspired' bit and Gerrit Loesch mentioned the ''faithful and discreet slave is NOT inspired'', in one of the broadcasts last year. Most Dubs just ''gloss over'' those statements. They just can't get through ''that Captive of Concept''. In other words their minds are ''hijacked'', ''held captive''.

Since JWS accept that the WTS /JWS is the most truthful and righteous organization on earth, trying to reveal its not is like breaking through a brick wall, for some that wall is quite thick and for others its precariously thin.

They think they have an honest approved relationship with Jehovah and the WTS instructs and guides people to have a close approved relationship with him.

This self proclaimed acknowledgement (1919) goes right back to the early beginnings of the WTS. in its strategically devised doctrines to promote its literature to the public.

    I wouldn't even bother.

As soon as they even sniiff that your views are apostate or different to what they have been brainwashed with, they turn into Batfink and protect themselves with "wings of steel".

The organisation has done a fantastic job in fooling them into thinking that they are well informed, free-thinking 'Boreans' who have proved to themselves that they have 'the truth' without even considering any other evidence apart from what they have been drip fed over the years.

In my experience, they only start to 'doubt' if they have had a fall out with somebody in the congregtion or an elder has been sharp with them, shattering their little illusion. The happier they are 'in the truth' the more resilient they are.

The doubs have to come from 'within' not from outside sources.
