Yes, advertisements do indeed suck. TiVo cures that though and makes TV much more enjoyable. There is always something you want to watch available and you can skip the commercials.

I agree Pleasuredome - any sort of garden, house or personal makeover program
ANYTHING with Carol Smilie, Carol Vordeman or Davina McCall in - (UK presenters that seem to be on absolutely everything lately and are pretty irritating )
But the absolute winner for me is BIG BROTHER - it has got to be THE most boring and useless program ever to have been thought of, I cannot believe the hype over it !

I am one who LOVES Oprah, and Dr. Phil. Also love Law and Order, CSI, West Wing and 24.
I admit I am hooked on American Idol and Survivor. The other reality shows are too stupid. I will watch the Bachelor for the last 3 or 4 shows though, if I am bored with whatever else is on.
The shows I cannot stand are Bernie Mac, and almost all of the African American sitcoms. I just don't get their humor I guess. I am not a bigot................those shows just seem unbelievably stupid, so I can't get past the first 5 minutes. I've tried and just don't like them.

I remember seeing Big Brother - horrible and disgusting.
The last 8 months I haven'nt seen television - just a few DvD's or video's and for the rest I'm shackled at my computer (with a dictionary at hand)
No time for reality soap or what so-ever. -

My own pet peeve is the US kids show 'Keenan and kel' which is such asanine rubbish it makes me cringe.
That, and the A team, are the only programs I forbade my kids to watch.
