Thanks so much Brummie! I'll miss your silly sense of humor. When I get back I promise a whole foot massage just for you! The little bits and the bigger bits...we'll see what we can do with the rest.

    Take care sweetie!

    Aztec,

Thanks for sharing. It is so good for others, lurkers, to read these stories. You know that many will relate.

I just wanted to comment too on the period in your life when god was "your buddy". I had that feeling as a Baptist, then as a JW. I lost it when I acknowledged in my heart the WT fraud. Then I did research on the origination of the Bible and the history of religion and it was totally apparent that the Sky Daddy concept was invented by man.

Now, however, in studying science, philosophy and history of the mystics I am starting again to feel a kinship to something, connecting to something; I suspect we all have varying abililities to do this, without even knowing what it is. Perhaps your feeling too was real, but like me, you were mislead as to what the source of this connection was and what you could expect from it.

Just a thought. Meanwhile, I feel like I know you better now. Thanks again.

Hey there Carrie, thanks for sharing your story. Even though I grew up in a Catholic family, we have a lot in common. Have you ever read anything about being raised by narcissistic parents? Your dad sounds like the classic case.

Dr. dear, why are you online? You should be checking out some playboys unless I'm mistaken...LOL!

You're right... I'm gonna go get some playboys to "read" right now!

Sometimes its not always easy to say whats in the HEART. I admire your strength and courage to tell your story. No matter how many times you tell your story healing comes behind it.

As far as meeting that guy. It's not your fault . No one has the right to violate your body. No is No and Yes is Yes. To be gentle with yourself , forgiveness of self comes in layers and each of us has our own process in recovery.

And you did not deserve the treatment of receiving abuse from family. And you know what if I was your next door neighbor I would report the abuse to Child Protection.

Just remember you have me in your back pocket for the rough times.

Glad you are here. Glad to have met you ((((((((Aztec))))))

    All the Best, OCW

    dear aztec

thank you for doing something i have not been brave enough to do - sharing your story in some detail. many of us have been naive in our social relationships. well, it makes sense because we weren't taught how to be careful around strangers - "you can trust anyone in the 'truth'". then, when we are interacting with people, we just take them for face value and we end up being raped and we have nowhere to turn.

Now that you are not a JW, you will be able to protect your child and nurture her/him to make THEIR OWN CHOICES -- that is such a happy thing!!!! I am happy for you and your child that you have broken free from JW and they will grow up F-R-E-E!!!!!

it takes a lot of courage to share your story. thanks.
