"Satan" would be the lucky one I think... he only would have to put up with it for another thousand years after "armageddon", while the "good ones" who survive it get to spend eternity being vegitarians and walking around going "..I don't know what do you want to do? We aint allowed to have sex and rock-n-roll is DEFINITELY out".

badolputtytat----------------- All I can say to that is that the WT belief is that sex will be prohibited only for thousand year period but more than likely will be reinstituted later on as there will likely be plenty of room on the planet . Rock and Roll will likely be banned for eternity ,who knows on that stuff anyway . I do live in America so life here is not as difficult as say the middle east or africa with all the crazy crap that goes on in the world we still have the highest standard of living , many cultures are not as obsessed with sex and rocknroll as people in the US or europe so I would imagine many people would be content in that kind of atmosphere. I see alot of people on this board make the earthly promise to be more of a unlivable experience but the up side to all of this is that people will be force to live in peace and there will be no disease or crime and people will have everything they need to survive and live a happy existence . It really doesn't sound so horrible existence, the possiblilities are beyond comprehension . To each their own tho .

He was here before us, right? Why not make that a talking issue? Why don't we have a lifespan such as his? Ah, the beauty and privilege of being a bad spirit creature! The eventual result will be, he's going to hell anyways. The dead do not knoweth anything. Besides, how many wicked spirit creatures have been put to death? Another thought, these guys will not get a resurrection.

I'm not sure what John was smokin' when he wrote Revelation, but I have a sneaky suspicion that it's the same stuff they've just made legal in Canada.

I believe in God (sorry, I can't see how we all got here by accident), but some of the stuff that's in the bible........I dunno........seems pretty strange to me. The book of Revelation, seeing as it was (conveniently) give "in signs", can be interpreted just about any way you want. I remember when we were studying the Revelation book and the one chapter was talking about the "firey mountain" that was "hurled into the sea" and it kills a third of all the creatures in the sea, boats and all kinds of other things.

Well I tried putting myself in John's place. Let's say he wasn't all doped up when he wrote this, that he really was being given signs. What in our day, looks like a "firey mountain" that can kills thousands of species all at once? Um............maybe a nuclear bomb or a rocket???

Naturally I was "leaning upon my own understanding" when I thought of this though. Apparently, this "firey mountain" represents "the firey issue of God's Kingdom" shortly after one of the wars.......how silly of me to come to a different conclusion!!

So to me, you can make Revelation say whatever you want it to say. As for Satan being allowed to go on for yet another thousand years, well all I can say is: I hope the bastard suffers alot when he's finally thrown into the Lake of Fire.......................

Heathen, Point taken.. however if you notice all the quotation marks in my post... I sorta just dont believe all that. It was called elsewhere a "jw myth".... I call it a JW scare tactic.

as far as being "obsessed with sex" I think the difference between American culture and places like India that you mention... is that "we" americans place a certain amount of shame on sex, our "obsession" with it is because we are not even allowed to talk about it until well into our teens... long after some of those cultures you mention are well into marriage AND sex. The middle eastern culture views "sex" and it's pleasure as divine... something to be shared openly.

But after making that post, I asked myself this : 1. if sex is only for the continuation of the species and 2. there is no death and 3. pleasurable sex is un-natural..... then 1. Would man have testicles? (to create the little buggers) and 2. would women have ovaries? and 3. would intimacy and its meaning change? answers welcome. I kinda prefer the thought that I would continue in a much different form than a physical body anyway... not "heaven" but just different. energy? You know... "energy never dies" blah blah blah

And as far as the rock-n-roll thing goes.... I was kidding to begin with. I am too old man.. rock-n-roll aint what it used to be. These kids have metal spikes growing outa their eye-brows and I hope that is a custom that will soon vanish. BUT as you said... to each their own.

The Bible says the "Number of these is as the sand of the seashore and they come up and surround the city of the saints".This scripture looks as though the vast majority fall under satans spell , of course, the Org disagress and says these ones "as the sand of the seashore" are a small band, not a majority.

Also worthy of mention is the scripture that says something like "the devil will be tortured day and night, forever and ever". The Revelation Climax book takes this as meaning that he will not be tortured but destroyed because the Hebrew word sometimes translated as the Greek word here translated "torture" can sometimes mean "destroy" (or something similarly nonsensical). How somebody can be destroyed "day and night, forever and ever" is beyond me (in any language) but I was well on my way out of the org when I spotted that.

It does seem a little unfair that the devil has had 6000 years or more of complete freedom to do all sorts of unspeakable things, and his punishment will be exactly the same as mine, only his happens later. I also don't see what issue will be settled if people using their informed free will choose to follow Satan and are destroyed for it. What does that prove?

It is all really quite simple. Jesus said we are to love our enemies. He must practice what he preaches. Satan is his enemy, thus, no Armageddon. If we don't get to destroy our enemies, either does he.
