She beat me to it. I must add that we also were able to encourage everyone from the assembly stage as well. Mulan and Big Red even hit the big time...district convention. We continue to encourage all the dubbies on a regular basis. They remain steadfast using our fallen family as an example.

For several years, my family was the only intact family with kids. So every time there was a "family part", we had to do it. It sucked! Also, I think onacruse brought up doing talks on masturbation. Don't even get me started. When I was a preeteen, I had to do one of those talks. Do you know how humiliating it is for a kid to have to talk about not touching oneself?

No, not me.

I was that child who played Knock-down Ginger and then got recognised by an irate householder whilst out in the service. That was embarrasing. I also got caned by 9 different teachers at school. Then I got caught snogging with an old world girl, some silly sister saw me as she went by on a bus. I even got caught at the same thing by John Wynne, a big honcho at London bethel.

So, no, I was not deemed suitable for such a privileged part in the SM.

We had an Elder who ALWAYS used his family on the platform for items. You just knew when you saw his name on the meetings list that his family will once more enact being the perfect JW family.

Yet one son has been reproved twice (other young ones in the congregation knew he was using cannabis as well), a daughter got pregnant before marriage. Also we just heard that the other son has just been disfellowshipped for smoking!!

What did the scripture say about an Elder keeping his family in good order as an example.

Yep, they just don't see the hypocrisy (or more to the point, don't WANT to see it) in that the Borg has an official website! How the heck are you supposed to get on the website without going on the internet?!

I was required by my father to join the school when I started public school---my first talk was about the cursing of Canaan and his homosexual act toward his drunk grandfather noah---was that homosexuality or incest or drunkenness? and my GRANDMOTHER was my householder---I was 5 years old!

my first assembly part I was 3 yrs old. I gave an assembly School talk when I was 13, and had so many other DC parts after that I can't remember them all. It was a rare meeting when I did not have some part. and for a while when I was very ill, I was writing all the sisters' talks for the school anyway---both schools....LOL they would come over for my 'help'. It got to the point that the school overseers recognized my writing styles and they told me to quit. But there was one 4 month stretch where I wrote both talks for schools every week!

when I left no one did not know my name and no one was middle of the road about me---they either adored me or hated my guts--most especially the elders(who I reminded on more than one occasion that I was changing their diapers after I was pioneering for atleast 5 yrs!) friggin little punks.

Yes - my children hated being used in items and begged not to have to go on the stage and parrot out the "I love being a freak" routine - I hated being assigned to give the annual KMS item on return to school after the holidays, the bit about pioneering as a family in the holidays etc etc.

AT assemblies we had stop watches waiting for the creep families (no name - no pack drill ) who we knew were hated as smug arrogant and patronising hypocrites - they were ALWAYS on -
