"Strangely enough, each of these would break confidentiality if the client was threatning to hurt himself."
i don't find this strange - it's easy to be a hero, and you wud be applauded for saving a possible suicide. but many professionals are terrified of CSA and any (personal legal) involvement. and for good reason - one's credentials, livelihood and character may be attacked. EVEN THOUGH reporting is IMO the absolutely right thing to do.
glad i cud be of some help. i'm sure the local constabulary or sexual assault ctr wud be happy to provide you with the proper ammo re the law and reporting.

When I was working in Montreal people knew I worked with victims. In fact I still do. But I've only worked with a couple of men who were victims and none of the women ever disclosed a history of abusing someone else.
I do let clients know the ground rules from the beginning so after that if they disclose abusing someone or plans to hurt someone (this did happen) they know I will call the police or notify CFS

Good for you Ladylee, quite a handful! I major in the Rogerian approach, though I do disagree with some of Carl Rogers beliefs I find it suits me better than most.
