probably the first one was paul anka on the steel pier in atlantic city circa l960. i immediately fell in love, mooning over him, screaming every time one of his songs came on the radio, followed him around for a few years, steel pier, freedomland (anyone remember freedomland???). years later in my dating days between husbands, two lovers brought me to paul anka concerts back to back, two days in a row, since they knew i had liked him..... little did they know....

since -- neil diamond -- elvis presley (the most electric concert i ever attended and i was not an elvis fan), -- everly brothers -- elton john -- billy joel -- joan baez -- judy collins -- luciano pavarotti -- jay and the americans -- franky valli and the 4 seasons -- bonnie raitt -- kris kristofferson -- john denver -- tom jones -- there are probably others that will come to mind after logging off....

1st concert was ......oh gosh, get this: Foghat! Went to many after that......too many to recount, but the Rolling Stones and Diana Ross concerts were definitely memorable.

Brummie, if you have Kazza, you can download her songs. I did.

Here is another of my favorite Nora Jones songs.

    Come away with me

Come away with me in the night
    Come away with me
And I will write you a song

Come away with me on a bus
Come away with me where they can't tempt us
    With their lies

I want to walk with you
    On a cloudy day
In fields where the yellow grass grows
    knee kigh
So won't you try to come

Come away with me and we'll kiss
    On a mountain top
    Come away with me
And I'll never stop loving you

And I want to wake up with the rain
    Falling on a tin roof
While I'm safe there in your arms
So all I ask is for you
To come away with me in the night
    Come away with me

The first concert I ever went to was to see Genesis. Over the years I've seen Tina Turner (supported by an unknown guy called Bryan Adams) David Bowie, Paul Simon, Simply Red, Gloria Estefan, Lisa Stansfield, Dina Carroll (who?), Sade, Randy Crawford, Janet Jackson, Sheryl Crow, Wet Wet Wet (oh dear) Del Amitri, Susan Vega, and a number of other people who came and went and I can't remember now. I have even seen Kenny G but I really went to see the supporting act..a female vocalist you might guess. In recent years I have tended to go to classical music concerts or shows when touring.

I listen to a wide variety of music and it ranges from Norah Jones to the Dixie Chicks. I bought October Road a few months ago and James Taylor is one of the few male vocalists I listen to. One of my favorite albums in the Chieftains "Tears of Stone" which features a number of guest female vocalists including Natalie Merchant another favorite of mine.

My first concert ever was Micheal Jackson, back when he had really only had one surgery on his nose. I was pretty young and I didn't understand why in tha hell all these girls up front were passing the hell out. It was nuts! But I did enjoy the moonwalk

Arrowstar- I saw Cher's farewell too, it was better than a Sex in the City marathon.Just thinking about it is making me want to whip out my downloaded Gypsies, tramps, and thieves.

Wildhorses- All with ya on the Nora Jones. Unfortunately you have to be like the Pope's godchild to get tickets to one of her shows, they all sold out in like two seconds.

My first concert ever was "platnium blonde". Wow there's a fine quality band that really made a name for themselves. Best concert ever was a band called James. Just amazing.
