What would the elders do if I returned to the hall

  Since you haven't been to any meetings in so long, aren't you considered DAed?

  No, they would have told me.

  The last time an elder spoke to me, he called me brother, and that was 1.5 years ago.

  'Many brothers like me in my congregation. They just don't go anymore and they still are visited once or twice a year by the elders. They are still considered brothers, just like me.

  I will never go back though. This was only a hypothetical question.

  One day they will most probably send me a registered letter and ask what I intend to do, I suppose.

  JH: Well, I have been suffering from extreme depression and have anxiety attacks around people. But if you CARED you would have known that, right?

  elder: ummm well, we did try to call on you in March. But you didn't answer your door. We knew you were home because the car was parked in the driveway, and we had been watching the house for a couple of hours before that to make sure you were in there. We saw you through the windows.

  JH: So, I have not been to a meeting since 1996, and it's only take you 7 years to figure out that I wasn't at the meetings? What the hell kind of shepherd are you anyway? And then you have the nerve to spy on me?? You call that LOVE???

  try it... it might be fun!

  I made a mistake in my question. I said I didn't go out in the field service since 1987, I meant 1997.

  Uh,

  They would definetley question you. If you told them to "leave you alone...", you would be showing no respect for Jehovah's arrangement and would be disfellowshipped based on this policy. Don't be fooled; you would have to submit to their interrogations... (sorry, spelling sux)... or face the consequences.

  Don't you dare go back, JH. I know you won't, but don't even entertain the thought!

  Good idea Mustang,

  All Xdubs should go out in the field service and preach the real truth.

  What would stop us from going out in the field service, but not as JW,s but as XJW's. I guess more people would talk to us than to them.

  Yes, they are supposed to keep a SEALED FILE on you, in case you start up again. This would be opened, and they would "deal with you".

  (Personally, I left one state, with lots of history, including pIONEERING; I went to another state, attended a few meetings, submerged into inactivity and moved around town 4 or 5 times; then I went to a 3rd state and HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A MEETING THERE. Yet, a relative ‘called the dogs on me’ in this locality.)

  So, maybe there is an envelope with my name on it

  Well, its been almost 30 years since I’ve been to a meeting.

  Sometimes I think about this. It is my wish that some committee takes out this envelope, holds it up to the light, announces my name AND HOLDS THEIR BREATH UNTIL I COME BACK TO A MEETING!!!!
