    Jt,
I feel a kinship, Bro. Your manner of expression took me back 25 years to NY City and the points you made were valid. The best part is I agree with you and Jurs. As I am in the process of resigning as an elder I plan to make a point. I could blame it on the family needs or other stress but I’m going to make some noise about meddling in conscience matters, the hierarchy structure, and the lack of real love, ect. But I love your thought too:
“i tell my wife they will just have to come and get my Black Behind cause i ain't wasting no stamp to send a lettter to Mo Larry and Curly”. I laughed until my wife wanted to know what was going on (evasive excuses employed).
    Thanks

    Congradulations!!!!!

I'm very happy for you. I chose the "drifting away" path too, but I am totally jealous that I didn't write my letter. The more I read here, the more I'm tempted to do it!!

    jurs,

    >>she wanted to know why i DA'd myself. i explained the hypocrisy i saw
    >>with elders. the double standards… she felt many of those things too and
    >>shared her painful experiences. we were on the same page.

I wonder how many active JWs feel the same way you do about the things
you mentioned to the pioneer sister but who just keep their mouths closed
but I bet there are a bunch, though. Unless you're a complete idiot, it's not
long before all the little injustices begin to get on your nerves and the "wait
on Jehovah" doesn't' cut it anymore.

Good for you and your kids, jurs. Now get on with life!

    peace,
    todd

    Jurs,

Congratulations. I was discussing this with you in chat with the group and was wondering what you had decided. Everyone made some excellent points in their responses. There are very good and valid reasons to send a letter...and there are very good and valid reasons for trying to fade quietly. Since we have to live with the consequences, it's a good thing we get to decide, huh?

Take care Jurs, and everyone else. Enjoy your freedom, your children, your life

Pathofthorns...good for you, too. If and when the time is right for you to send your letter, you will know it. In the meantime, try to spread the "good news" about apostates wherever you go!
