Many Happy Returns, OCW!!
I have felt comfortable with celebrating my birthday from the first year I left. This year my husband took me to the Portugese restaurant in our village and we had lobster for the first time. Yum! And at the weekend we went camping at my favorite place, walked in the hills and I got sunburnt (stooopid).
When I turned thirty we had a party at home with lots of spicy tapas and mojitos and margueritas and anything you can stick in a liquidiser with alcohol.

I've been going to birthdays, having recently gone to one on the 16th. Nobody's head got chopped off but we did watch the Exorcist and had pizza and cake, quite informal with no idolatry. Apparently there was a true story to the Exorcist but not as fantastic as in the movie. Any sort of celebration is fun out of the WTS, i mean what did we have to celebrate: weddings (once every blue moon), anniversary's (once a year), and the "memorial"; however, in the memorial we didn't celebrate we just watched on.
