WT Books Going Missing

Hi,

I recently visited my local library looking for books on JWs. Checking the computer system I found that pretty much all the 'anti' books had been marked as 'lost'.

Lost? Or taken by a zealous JW not wanting people to find out the truth about their religion?

Have any of you had a similar experience or knew of someone who delibrately stole JW books form the library?

No but when I was a zealot, I took the reasoning from the scripture to my local library, as a gift. Guess what? It never appeared on the shelf.

I think there have been cases documented of this sort of thing happening. Some JWs can justify anything as 'spiritual warfare'.

While I was having doubts I noticed that some of the books in the KH library went missing. Certain embarrassing yearbooks and others.

Strange that nearly everything they have ever printed eventually get's classed as 'apostate' isn't it ?!?!

This is hearsay, as I haven't checked myself. Concerned Mama was chatting with a local librarian. According to that librarian, books critical of the WTS do go missing. Apparently, they have a very short shelf life, like bananas.

Ignored's "local library" I think is the same library that my own stalwart JW family go to!! They might be responsible, LOL!

Even the university library has a list of missing JW books on its computer system. None of the big ones, COC etc but missing all the same.

I'm sure many anti- religion books go missing in libraries. Mormons, Scientologist, Moonies, etc are probably doing the same thing. You would think Librarians would expect this and try to contact the last person who took the book out.

Kinda hypocrital of the JWs to steal the anti-WTS books, but leave their own in place, especially magazines.

Yes, it is an ongoing problem, not only missing books, but sometimes vandalized ones.

Anti-JW books have been disappearing from libraries and bookstores for many years. I found the same situation at various libraries in Portland, Oregon 10-12 years ago. A big Portland bookstore, Powell's, eventually removed the section on JWs entirely because they kept finding anti-JW books hidden away behind other books on random shelves. The JWs are obviously afraid of criticism and will not hesitate to violate their own ethics to stop it. But JWs violate ethics all the time, so this is consistent.
