WT Books Going Missing

I've never tried a public library.

Last summer I typed Jehovah's Witness into my university library computer to find about five anti-jw's, two where they were just mentioned in a few paragraphs about millenium churches or cults, and about four from the Watchtower and tract society. They were all shelved together in the religion section of books.

All of the ones in my search list showed up on the shelf. So it is possible the dubs in my area are slacking and forgot about the Univ. library.

Honestly it wouldn't surprise me at all that this was going on at library's all over the place. Do you think they count their time when they go out searching for and removing apostate lit? I would have...hahaha!

Apparently CofC is missing from the main library here. The database listed one copy that was supposedly available at the main library when I checked several months ago. I went to the shelf and it wasn't there. I thought perhaps it had maybe been picked so I asked a librarian and checked back a few days later and did this a few more times. I never found the book. The library isn't in the best shape, but it is suspicious that this book is missing. On the other hand I did find James Penton's book there.

    Ignored One,

My husband wanted to join the Mason's a few years ago, and I took it upon myself to ''study up'', as the wife must give her permission for a husband to join.

I went to the Bloomington Indiana Library, just steps away from the I.U. Campus, which prides itself on its liberality.(They just in the last week, refused federal funding, because they refused to use filters on the internet)

Anyway, all the books on Freemasonry were missing, with no expaination. I pointed out that they were not listed on the computerized system as ''checked out''.

Apparently all books on said subject were missing....

The librarians were quite shocked, and concerned...

So easy to steal from libraries, evidently. How 'bout those anti theft devices used for CD's??

Sorry for posting again like this, but...

This makes me think of people who see written books as obsolete.

Remeber the post, where someone had a bunch of JW books, and wanted to burn them?

Well, JW's dont trust computers, Cd's, etc,

They will outright say they have been modified, if moved to that format.

    PLEASE SAVE THE BOOKS!!!!

Those who are in doubt need to see the real thing, copyright and all.

They will accuse us of ''changing things'' if not in the original form.....Those books are precious for future references!!!

This is another potential reason for us to exist. The average Joe Sixpack would never take notice of such things as books missing from library shelves. We notice however and can point out this unfortunate fact. And we can also identify the reason this is happening.

The JWs act just like every other tin-horned dictator and rule making tyrant the world over. They absolutely cannot tolerate even mild criticism, much less the raw, unvarnished truth and that's why books like Crisis of Conscience and all the others go missing from library shevles. These books tell the truth about the JWs, and the JWs can't have that. That is the last thing the witnesses want even though they claim to represent the only channel for the expression of truth on earth today. Truth to a JW is like a mirror held up to a blood sucking vampire. They can't stand the truth.

Well, as a teenage dub, I felt that it was my solemn and sacred responsibililty to hide any anti-JW books at our local small town library. I would never steal any, as I knew that woul be wrong, but I would relocate them to other parts of the library and/or hide them behind other books on the shelves. I felt that then people who may be inclined to read them would give up looking when they couldn't find them. Of course, I always made sure that the JW literature that had been donated to the library was prominently seen and available on the shelves. (I was such a dork!)

But, one day, I just thought I would take a quick peek inside one of those books, I believe it was "Visions of Glory" by Barbara Grizutti Harrison. I had always had my doubts, but just felt I was spiritually weak. Taking that peek really sparked my curiousity and as soon as I moved to a much larger community, I would then hide in some corner of the library and read these books. I didn't end up leaving altogether until years later, when I decided to intensely study and research only the Society's literature....and I found out that my doubts were real and had founded reasons. It wasn't until just a couple of years ago that I actually got my own copy of CoC, and it's all made so much sense to me now.

So, in a way, trying to hide that 'evil' literature actually helped me on the road to freedom....

Maybe it's dubs who steal them to read them and confirm doubts or fears. They do this so as not to have a record of having checked out an anti-witness book. Just a possibility.
