Ahhh Brummie - you just keep on venting.
I wonder how many shy away from posting, fearing they will be made to feel "wanting" just because their opinion isn't backed up by years of studying, 50 books & statistics to back up their feelings?
Like many, I tend towards "lighter" threads - my personal life is just too complex & multi-layered to need any meatier substance in my personal time. This is my time to unwind, have a good discussion that doesn't take rocket science and maybe share a few thoughts with those I feel are becoming my friends. I'm sure many share these sentiments.
When this board is labelled for "intellects only" - then I'll gladly leave for more relaxing & frankly rewarding venue's. It's nice to learn a few things once in awhile, but if all I was doing was trying to "learn" - I'd be spending my free time in college, with the "real" experts.

My thoughts on this is that we all are progressing through "recovery" from a cult. We are all at different levels in our recovery. The continum runs from A - Z in anything.
Sometimes when you leave, or get kicked out, of something so mind altering as this one goes to the Z place which is the extreme opposite of A. The goal in therapy, life and in "recovery from J.W.'s, in my opinion, is to bring my life to the middle around L - P. And then lead my life with all my J.W. insecurities all gone.
This forum gives me support in this process. Support that I never had, when I was first disfellowshipped and stripped of family and friends.
Some humour is good, .. for the newly leaving J.W. person.. it lets the stress off. So, I have begun reading the humour section, every night before I go to bed.. and it has helped not to wake up in the bad dreams and sleepless nights that are recurrent. I don't particularly like dirty words, or bad language but if it's humour that doesn't suit my taste then I can choose to skip over that.
It's sometimes all about choice.. something that J.W.'s don't have.

Hey Brummie, love the kittie! I agree some lurkers may not post out of fear of being slammed. Every one is at different places. I know I am slowly moving away from the hard-core J-dud crap and more to the lighter stuff. I love a lively interchange. The ladies here are tough and take no prisoners! What a pleasure that is from the dull, dud, dingalings! Maverick, Keep the anti-faith my furry friend!

I try to love em all.. the tough and crusty to the fluffy marshmellow ones. There is a few times, I have become annoyed. When that happens, "I step away from the Computer" like it is going to explode. I go read a steamy novel, romp w/ my hubby or go for a swim.. something to clear the mind of the B.S.
Because some posters have more of their fair share of B.S. and some are just full of it. Isn't life's wide ranges of characters funny.
