Your so right orphancrow, in chapter 17 of Leviticus they fail to mention the scripture where it says it’s ok to eat a dead animal found where there is no way to drain the blood. One would only be unclean until evening.

They fail to mention in Mathew chapter 12 where Jesus says we desire mercy no sacrifice.

They fail to mention in chapter 15 of Mathew where Jesus says nothing going into a man can defile him .

We know of a brother who was in hospital and was asked about blood fractions and secondary blood components etc etc.

Anyway one of the doctors asked him at what point would an acceptable fraction given multiple times reach the level where it became unacceptable because of the accrued effect. The brother said he hadn't a clue, and left the doctor walking away shaking his head.

Well, in his defense, I had to read, re-read, and re-re-read the question to completely understand it.

    ...

Seriously though, this just demonstrates the real reason most JWs toe the transfusion line... they're not overly concerned with what the Bible says about the subject, or even the safety issues.

They're simply too scared of being found out and punished by the Org for maybe treading close to the line.

They don't want to think about it. They just want to do whatever they are told to do so that they get their ticket to paradise.

It doesn't take much thinking, though, to find the glaring discrepancies in the Org's approval of Hemopure and other HBOC's.

One of the procedures that is on the org's banned list is autologous blood transfusions - where the patient pre-donates their own blood for use in planned surgeries. The reason that is given as to why this is unacceptable is that "blood is to be poured on the ground". It is not to be stored.

And one of the procedures that has been acceptable for decades is cardiopulmonary bypass (heart and lung machine) but the WTS/org has been a big deal about how the lines carrying the blood are to be uninterrupted and connected to the patient at all times. Apparently, this is to ensure that the blood isn't stored. That it is a continuous circuit. Why? To adhere to the prohibition against storing blood.

And along comes Hemopure. Animal blood. Collected from herds of donor cows. Drained from dead carcasses, put in containers, cooled, and then processed.

Stored animal blood. Gets the green light.

How much thinking does it take to know that the blood doctrine isn't isn't based on the Bible at all?

Actually a JW can have human hemoglobin

Yes, I believe this is true. Haemoglobin is actually a secondary blood fraction, according to Watchtower classification of blood products. So JWs can have haemoglobin if their conscience permits it. That particular JW is unaware of this, or his conscience does not permit him to have it, and, he is unaware of the fact that hemopure is basically just the animal version of the same haemoglobin he is refusing.

However, it's rather foolish that red blood cells are banned while haemoglobin - the thing that makes a red blood cell a red blood cell - isn't considered a primary blood fraction and isn't banned. To throw the JWs' alcohol analogy back in their faces in the proper way: It's as foolish as if you went to your doctor and he told you to abstain from alcoholic beverages, but told you that you can have pure ethanol injected in your veins because it's not an alcoholic beverage but a fraction thereof.

i`m pretty certain the average Joe blow J.W would have no clue defending their no Blood policy in a state of emergency .

To anybody who asked , they would deflect these embarrassing questions to the Elders who would then contact the legal Department for clarification .

What does the latest Watchtower say about this ?

It has nothing to do with what the Bible says.

The blood issue is like the 1914 issue, they are totally trapped because of overprinting their 18 th century bullshit . If they change 1914 or the blood issue there honestly would be an exodus . The blood change would open the floodgates of litigation and I truly believe a bereaved parent of a child lost to blood might want some of big Tony’s blood on his door post.
