Thanks to all who commented on this thread. As I said above, It was just a question I woke up to this morning. No rhyme or reason as to why I would even think such a question. But I do appreciate the comments. Thanks again.

    LOL, you hit on something!

'Angel' means messenger. Now the funny thing is God supposedly made messengers before having anybody around to send messages to. weird concept.

    Not a dumb question.

I want to know why he made all those dinosaurs, did they really eat each other, and if they were carnivorous ...did it hurt?

If we are to go by most Christian teachings then pain is something of a curse because of mans sins. Not to mention that without a certain amount of pain we could lose limbs and bleed to death before we noticed they were gone.

And why all the poisonous plants?

If a child was say…in therapy, his drawings being analyzed by a therapist, and the child drew stuff like beasts devouring each other and poisonous plants killing anything that ate them, the child would probably be put on meds.

It's important to look carefully at the cultural and historical contexts which "angels" and other supposedly spiritual creatures appear in. One interesting thing that all these spirit creatures seem to have in common is that they tend to come from the sky (although obviously not all of them do).

Remember, people living at the beginning of recorded history would have no way of describing anything non-human, yet intelligent too, not with their limited viewpoint of the world. Hell, for the most part the concept of Earth being a big sphere orbiting the sun would have been astonishing. So look at things from their perspective...it's all very interesting.

OK, yes, I'm being too vague...I'm sure y'all get my drift though!

I am of the belief that we were once all as angles - and that at one time there was no distinction between God's first son, and his last (which makes sence right?) However, when we were given free will, most of us promptly used it for our own selfish purposes, instead preferring to inhabit the Earth creatures of the time (animals). Well, this wasn't God's original plan, so he says - you want to live in Animal bodies - then I'll create the perfect mould for you - Man - or Adam. At present, we are so caught up in our animal bodies - we've forgotten our true heritage. It seems that only Christ was able to morph into and out of a body (which we called Jesus). Much as I like to think my soul is free from this body - I still like looking into the mirror and thinking to myself - I'm pretty good looking. ha ha.

uhhhh...do you REALLY want to know my answer to that one?

where to start where to start....

    ok here goes!

I believe we were all spirits(as have come to be called angels now by various religions). I believe the Earth among other planet were created for us to learn and experience and grow and evolved from...like classrooms. I believe certain life forms were indigenous to this planet and evolved naturally--being set in motion by a Higher Power. Now what I believe happened was that we played around and screwed up in our immaturity and we not only disrupted this planet's natural evolution but we got ourselves trapped in matter. we 'possessed' the material bodies here in order to experience their sensations and it produced a hybrid creature that was not entirely spirit and not entirely material, but it was very unstable and unhealthy( a la the monsters and half humanoid creatures--giants etc...) So inorder to provide a way out of our entrapment and to heal the damage we did, a human body was created by the Higher Power who also created our classroom, to house our spirits and the unfortunate new life forms we inadvertantly devolved. But the human form did not prove to last long enough for us to be able to free ourselves from the matter, so it became necessary for us to reincarnate until we got it right. The hybrids we produced have also evolved into higher beings and I believe they are the animals we call today 'pets', like cats and dogs and horses. I believe we are coming to a point in time that humans are finishing up their purpose and many spirits will be freed from matter. Then the Earth will also be healed and free once again to evolve into what it was supposed to be. and pets, who have sparks of spirit will go on to join us in the place where we were supposed to be since the beginning.

I have thought about this for a long long time, done personal research(please dnt ask for 'proof'--I cant prove it to anyone else!)and I am happy with this. It answers my questions.

Good Thread El Kabong. Finally an intelligent thread without Flame Warriors.

I started reading this thread yesterday, and it actually kept me awake last night thinking about it.

    God.....then Christ........then the angels..............then the heavens..............then the earth and sea..............then the plants and vegetation..........then the animals.............then Adam.............and finally Eve.

So technically the woman should be version 8 ( or therabouts ) of God's creations. I don't know of any other creations revisons since that, so technically woman should be the latest and greatest creation version. Now there is a point to ponder !

And as another poster mentioned. WHY? Why did God have to create us in the first place?

What purpose was there to it?

If it is to utimately show Satan that he was right and Satan was wrong, is that point really ever going to be made?

And if by chance or Divine Intervention it does, at what cost?

How long is God going to use us as pawns in his Universal Chess Game? The way the game is being played out, the White King ( God ) will be the only remaining piece on the board, and God will again be right where he started………..by himself.

That is such a good questions. Perhaps the angels were created with the best material and we were created with what was left over from the angels.

How about the possibility that we were not create by god at all. Maybe, god created the spirit realm where he exists and the angles. Then satan who was envious of god and his creations wanted a little sandbox of his own. So he created the earth as his play ground.

Then again maybe earth is just a reality series for space creatures to enjoy watching how screwed up we all are.

    Ravyn,

I have been reading some of the concepts that you believe. On one had I like the fact that we can only blame ourselves for our problems and not some out side entity. We are responsible for our own problems and we have to keep on working until we get it right. However I have trouble with the concept of Karma. Do you believe in Karma?

    beel,

not karma per se. not the eastern karma. i think it is like a video game. each incarnation is a certain level with certain goals. after so many levels you reach a new stage of game play. I think you get to keep the points you made in one level to the next, and the weaknesses, but you don't have to 'pay' for anything except maybe the progress you didnt make so you may start off at a disadvantage next time. does that make sesne to you?

I dont believe in SIN, only missed opportunities for progress. say in the last life you caused somone's death. well if they died, then obviously it was what was supposed to happen or it would not have happened. However, it did not put YOU in a higher place next time and whatever lesson you had the chance to learn that you blew when you killed someone, well now you gotta learn it this time. And I think each time you come back, the human mechanism is weaker, so the lesson may be harder the second time. or the third time.....

    is that karma?
