Avishai: I am relieved to read that you are going to the doctor.

Yes, seizures can be brought on as a result of a blow to the head (from a person, or from an object).

Glad to read that you are going to do something about this. You don't need this now at this stage of your life.

    Be well Avishai.

And yes: Happy 1 Year Anniversary to the Board!

Thanx for all the support, folks, I needed it, & yes, i will be going to see the doctor. I don't need to keep flopping around. I might be mistaken for a pentecostal.

Avi--they have pentecostals in CA? LOL

I was in CA when I got my claim thru. So I can help you with it if you need me. I hope you will be ok. and you don't have to claim work injury to get SS. That would be just for the Worker's Comp.

Hey Tina! I was also a forcep baby--had 2 surgeries before age 5 to correct the damage to my eyes and sinuses and one more at age 32-septoturbinoplasty. I never thought about a connection with the Narcolepsy before. My first seizure was age 2. and I had cataplexy by the time i was in Kindergarten and migraines in 1st grade. hmmmmmmmm

    Avi--keep in touch!

Those damn forceps! That was one of the first questions the docs asked my mom when she got the hospital. They said forceps at birth causes head injury that can manifest itself as epilepsy later. Could be as a child or adult onset. From the moment I hit the birth canal I was screwed.

Bouncing my head off the pavement about 5 times didn't help. Then I did it a few times as an adult.

This is a reminder. Wear a helmet!

    1st, Happy 1st JWD birthday.

2nd, I hope all goes well, you have done an amazing job in the last 5 years, credit where its due. Not everyone could do that. It is mentally & physically draining and it could just be that your shaking is a product of that, low sugar also causes shivering and shaking and coupled with your job it would bring stress to your whole body. Whatever the reason, make sure you go see a doctor soon. He will lighten the anxiety this must be causing.

Personally, I don't know a lot about disability I am trying to learn more to help my mother. The rules may vary depending on the state you live in. One thing is absolute though; you need to find yourself a good doctor and one who will be an advocate for you. In California, it is typical to be turned down the first time one applies. Therefore, you will need to have a certain amount of perseverance as well if you live here.

I have a neighbor who just got on disability, permanent, after 2 years of going through red tape. That is permanent disability. Temp. should be less difficult.

Regardless I hope things turn out ok for you. With a job like that, you might also apply for stress relief.

    Avishai,

How are you doing? What did the doctor have to say?

I just found out some interesting info. Wellbutrin, a anti-depressant is contraindicated for people who have seizure disorder. I was wondering why I have been having seizures lately, out of the clear blue. It is because I was taking Wellbutrin/Zyban to stop smoking and to deal with depression from the divorce.

    So, be cautious.

    Take care,

    Robyn
