I didn't know that. What an interesting bit of trivia.
I guess the New York Times back then had never heard of Sir Isaac Newton.

Beans,
Keep reading that site.... and you will see why there is no optimism..... oral sex and masturbation are perversions....Would YOU be optimistic? I think not... You would be running around screaming that the "end is cumming coming" too.
SO how on earth did they plan on speading the good news to the four corners of the universe?
Big Tex, there is a book of quotes (I forget the name but somebody at a decent bookstore should be able to find it for you - its something like "they should have known better), what's fun about it is that it isn't twits like the writing department. Its guys like the President of RCA in the 1940's saying that television will never be a viable commerical enterprise in the US or the President of IBM saying that there may be a use for as many as five computers in the world.
At least the NY Times knows when to say they were wrong (or they used to).
Thanks Jeff, I'll keep an eye open for that. I love quotes, and in fact I've got one book of quotes already as well as another couple of websites bookmarked at work.
I do remember Gene Roddenberry saying that the reason why the consoles on Star Trek were so high was because he figured, even 300 years from now, that it would take mainframe like computers to be able to store as much information as they had to on the show. Now there is development of a chip the size of an atom. Not to mention quantum mechanics. I wonder what kind of silly quotes there will be 100 years from now?
Weapons of mass destruction? Peace in our time?
Now the question is, which pioneers would qualify for space travel??????????????????
It does not surprise surprize me. ( I like my zs)
Hahaha, I think the pioneer with the most hours and the most books sold gets to test a rocket to outer space. Imagine a rocket built by the Watchtower. The engineers would be sort of engineers but not really, and certainly they would not be rocket engineers. LOL. By the way, I saw one in some show in Fox where they said that we never got to the moon. They gave pretty good reasons, anyone seen it here?
Lol, I know Big Tex will have to say something about my post ^ . Seen one of the shows Big Tex?
Playing Devil's advocate...
Well, they are right that planes wouldn't work in space.
