Subtract the number of baptized jws from the circulation number and you get about 16,000,000 magazines that are read by non-jws who likely have little intention of ever converting.

Then subtract from 16 million the number of copies sitting in closets and on bookshelves of the averge dub for many months before they are tossed out (or left in laundromats to be tossed out by others). If the average dub has 2 or 3 copies of each issue lying around, and you multiply that by 6 million, that doesn't leave much "circulation," does it?

And deduct the copies that are a "must" for all the unbaptized children. Adding to the artwork in these precious publications kept my young ones occupied at many a meeting.

So who are the two people who receive the magazines? The pervert author and his wife?

Whu Hell! If Erik Haaest says it's a good book, then it MUST be the TRUTH!!! And if the book is truth, then the Watchtower must be truth too!

That's it! I'm gonna return to my vomit (2 Peter 2:22) and go crawling around in it while begging the elders for their forgivness and to let me back in to that WONDERFUL and LOVING organization they have!

<---- Forcing myself to be a HAPPY little JW like all good JWs are.

Well said, Elsewhere. This was part of what bothered me about this quote - if it's "the Truth", why does it needs the World's testimony? I am surprised they included those negative references such as "disregard the preaching bits" - usually they replace bits of quotes that don't suit them with "..."

Of course, as always, we don't get the context for this quote. Is it a newspaper or magazine interview? Is it perhaps an interview the Dubs themselves conducted?* In other words, the Tower is up to its old trick of not citing properly.

    * Perhaps they're even words he's put into the mouth of a character in one of his fictional works!

Further on this quote, Haaest refers to the book as a "neutral" history of religion, yet the page the book is opened at has a subtitle that reads "Conflict With And Within Christendom", i.e. it contains one of those classic JW trigger words: "Christendom" (every mainstream Christian group that doesn't agree with the Tower and will be destroyed at Armageddon - not particularly "neutral", in my book.

I thought the dubs weren't supposed to listen to the words of "strangers"!!!

Not for the R&F Dubs, BS, but apparently with the Governing Body, flattery will get you everywhere! LOL
