Is the Lord's Prayer a Hoax?

I have read a number of books dealing with the topic of the early bible writers. The gospel accounts were written some time after Jesus death and the latter Christian leaders did a lot of cutting and editing of the text. Although woman in the early Christian movement played a far greater role in the church, the Church fathers of the 3rd and 4th century wanted to give Christianity a male perspective and a lesser role to the female gender.

I posted this about 2 weeks ago, and it died. so I hope Simon lets me repeat it here because even if I had to write it all out from memory it would still say the same thing!
YHWH is Yod He Vau He---it is male/female/male/female and Jehovah originally had a consort named Shekinah(as in the Holy Light in the Most Holy--remember?) Shekinah is the same as Asherah. The whole idea of a Trinity is actually in this case a Quadrinity! Father/Mother(Holy Spirit)/Son/Daughter(Bride or Church) is how it translated into gnostic christian sects. So YHWH is not the same as Jehovah, Jehovah is only one part of YHWH(which might also explain the plural gods who did the creating in Genesis chapter one as opposed the single deity Jehovah who made Adam in chapter two...)
why are both female aspects named the same? well how many 'Marys' were in jesus life? His mother, some say Mary Magdalen was his wife(especailly the said above gnostics) and if Mary of Bethany(sister to Martha and Lazarus)was a separate Mary from Mary Magdalen--well whats up with all the Marys? It goes along with the Mother of god concept too--She gave birth to the Son who is also the God....
Goddesses and women are always depicted as many faced. Maiden Mother Crone.....the original Trinity.
In pagan mythos of many different traditions the Mother gives birth to a Son without a Father and the Son grows to maturity and becomes the Mother's(who is now the Maiden) lover making her pregnant again only to go off and die. So Mother Mary, a virgin(or maiden) gives birth to the Son, and then he is destined to marry another Mary, but he dies....(the gnostics believe the wedding at Cana was jesus and Mary Magdalen and that he left her pregnant when he was supposedly crucified--which is another topic altogether). See the pattern?
now explain to me how this minor tribal jewish god came to be the ONLY TRUE GOD of billions?

Then wouldn't most of the 'gospel' accounts be a hoax
Hi MrsQ, welcome to the forum. Yes, I believe that most of the NT has been altered. Altered by a church that had an agenda.
What I find interesting is that if the Hebrew language was the perfect language from god (as the JW's taught - we would all learn Hebrew in the New System ) why would it not have a neutral gender to describe god more perfectly?
REM, Seems to me that that is a good question. Hey, the German language has a word to describe gender neutral. Does that mean that German is the perfect language from God?
Gamaliel, good post. Thanks for bringing your other post to my attention. I don't know how I missed it. Wait, yes I do. I was working.
I suppose the next step is to question Christ's masculinity? Religious feminists are "grasping for straws" to promote their own agenda.
I know I said that I was going to shun Mizpah but I have a couple of other things to say to him.
Mizpah, how does asking a legitimate question mean that I have an agenda to promote? I am merely curious. Which is why I asked. I made no statement that God isn't male. Therefore, no hidden feminist agenda. BTW, I am not a feminist.
I have studied Judaism (I am not a scholar by any means) and now I am studying Islam. It appears to me that Christians are the only one of the 3 Abrahamic religions to insist that God is masculine. So is the Son and the Holy Spirit. I find this odd and wonder if it isn't more than coincidental. IMO, the early church fathers altered some of the scriptures to suit their own agendas.
OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN, treat us with kindness for the sake of your great Name that has been proclaimed upon us."
OHappyDay, do you not think that this is for convenience only? Since there isn't a word for neutral gender in Hebrew?
Of course Jesus could have said "Our table who art in heaven...." and that would have made about as much sense as some of the other things he said.

Exactly. Anybody who has done research should be aware of this. If they would edit one part of scripture, why not another?
Ravyn I LOVED your response. Thank you for posting.
