Have you ever had a dog that was dumber than a box of rocks? I have; his name was Dave Matthews. We loved him anyway. Maybe Stanley is smarter than he lets on, but I still have my doubts about Dave.

DY, here's a photo of Dave (the not so very bright dog) Matthews-- not hairy. I am rather certain he would not have passed the Doggy IQ test! Emma, our sailor dog, passes it in spades :)

He's adorable! I used to have a German Shepard/husky/Golden mix who wasn't exactly the sharpest pencil in the box either, but she had a heart of gold was would defend you to the death. It's been ten years and I still miss that mutt.

LisaRose, It's the mutts that steal our hearts! My son picked him out because he was the most pathetic dog at the pound, and that's how my son felt himself at the time. Dave was a true healer-- heart of gold. RIP Dave

Oh Sail Away...thanks for sharing your adorable Stanley with us. But, I don't see what the problem is...I'm 65, have OCD, forget OTHER people's names at times, and don't answer when I don't want to be bothered either. Stanley and I have just learned to "tune out the noise." lol

We always had big dogs and had just lost one. I told my kids please let's get a smaller dog this time please. We went this puppy so attached itself to my kids and my son says see mom she is so small mom. Do you see the size of those paws?!?! That will not be a small dog! But mom she is small and soooo cute. She only weighs 25 lbs. She was a blonde lab mix, one of the nicest sweetest dogs we ever owned. She grew up to be 115 lbs. Now labs are supposed to like water. We lived on a lake and had a boat. The first time we took her out on the boat she could not wait to get back to shore. When we got close enough to shore she took a flying leap landed on shore took off running to the deck and sat at the sliding glass door. From that point on she would never leave the deck in the back. If she had to go out for a walk you had to go out the front door and she would not venture near the rear of the property near that lake.

My beloved Poodle, Little Brother, died about two years ago, He was so smart and loyal. I bought a new Poodle right after he died, paid $2,000 for him. He isn't as smart as Little Brother and he is a wimp, afraid of everything. I still love him.
