I have seen some items going up by say, about 3.00 in a week! not to mention meat and dairy prices. One item literally went up 3.00 in one week, kicked myself for not getting it earlier.

That being said, time to get the garden going! spring has finally sprung, won't be long now.

The latest inflation again beat estimates, even for the doctored number!

8.3% now. Imagine believing this classes as a "fall" just because it's down slightly from the previous months record peak when it's really the 2nd highest for the last 40 years?

Remember: Inflation compounds. If you have money in the bank it's now a melting ice-cube and someone just turned the heat up.

Try this inflation calculator to see what it does and remember - if you manage to protect yourself from inflation they then ding you by claiming you've made capital gains even if all you achieved was standing still.

We have always tried not to spend every dollar we earn and accumulate, perhaps going deep in debt long before this. So things can increase in price and so far we can pay it and not wipe out our savings. Of course, it can get so bad for everyone that there might be no place to go for help. I can remember my German relatives who were adults during the period after WW1, and how a wheelbarrow of currency would not buy a loaf of bread. I hope it doesn't get that bad.

Latest inflation: 8.6% - the highest for 4 decades.

Remember: this is the official manipulated number, the real rate is way WAY higher.

The inflation rate will soon overtake Biden's approval rating!

The government is stealing your money, by devaluing what you already have and then taxing you for the imaginary "gains" you've made due to their profligacy.

Wait till the food shortages kick in next year. Things are going to get real.

Elections have consequences. No sane person should be voting for these incompetent clowns.

I have the luxury of increasing my income with unlimited overtime and bonuses for picking up shifts. I never paid attention to prices unless they were big ticket items like a vehicle. However I’m now feeling the sting of price increases. I’m spending $420 a month in gas just to go to work. So now I adjust by using the company van pool program even though it is a pain sharing it with 4 people. I bought two freezers and filled them and had solar panels installed on my roof. I never thought I would buy gold or silver but bought some recently. None of the above is something I thought I would do but prices are sky rocketing. I live near and work in Tampa and rent is $3000 a month for what I currently live in. Two years ago the same rental would be $1750. I want to sell and my home but it would just be a wash when looking for new housing options.

"The US is never going to pay down any debt. All that matters is if they can service the interest. As long as GDP keeps growing, its not really an issue. Japan has twice the debt to GDP ratio of the US."

Japan has been in a no-growth economy for years. They held their interest rate at 0% or less for years and can't get any growth because the government spends 16 plus percent of their GDP.

When talking about Trillions, remember it is 1 Million Million. 10 to the 12th power. 1 with 12 zero's.

1 Billion seconds is 31 years.

1 Trillion seconds is 31,710 years.
