Note the role of the Governing Body is very similar to that of Mohammed. Do what the Governing Body says, not what Jesus Christ the first born only begotten Son of God says.

Change time, times and half a time from 3.5 to 7.5 and divide 1260 by 7.5 = 1176 and then do a day for a year and you can get from 607 BCE to 570 AD - the birth of the Mohammed.
Replace Bible with a couple of magazines and don't let anyone keep back copies of the mags. In time replace mags with broadcast called Koran-t-truth. Don't let anyone watch old broadcasts.
Tell everyone God's a bit of a footballer - he has goals but no plans. Sometimes he has to change his entire strategy to accomodate unforesee emergencies.

why was is Islam, the fastest growing religion, missing from JW doctrine? - because some Muslims react extremely violently when their religion is disrespected. A glossy little brochure from the WTS arguing against Muhammad's teachings would certainly fall into this category.
Yeah, ask the guys at Charlie Hebdo in France. The WT did actually publish Two scathing articles about islam in 1950 and 1951 or was it 51 and 52??

Islam is the perfect religion for the ex-JW because it is the only one that PAYS new converts compensation for the loss of community that comes from converting. The Muslims expect the other religion to shun its apostates, just as Islam does to those who apostatize.
That said, the only form of Islam that really works within Western Culture in a way that promotes good citizenship within a secular framework is Ismaili. You give the Agha Khan your tithes, he lives the life of an English Aristocrat playboy 10% of that while giving 90% of his millions to various charities that help everybody, not just Muslims. Not my cup of tea, Your Highness, but I won't turn down your charity either and God bless the Ismailis.
