Xanthippe, great thoughts on them passing blame for their problems. I agree they don't need more recruits. They don't even need all the ones they have. Many were productive "publishers" but that doesn't really produce income for them. They just need money, not people. Declaring the GT would increase the success of a call to shun inactive family members.
Flipper, interesting thoughts. They may be saving the declaration of GT for governments really putting the heat on them. And then they could still say "It is the START...." No further commitment. I just wonder if they can go on financially until such a time.
Fisherman it mentions it in the same article as I previously quoted, the July 2015 Watchtower. It is purely an interpretation of Revelation when it talks about hailstones falling from heaven.

It is interesting that they are showing "bunker" videos... as "if" the GT is about to be upon us.....

When I first heard that question, "will you be willing to do whatever is told to you even tho it seems strange from a human viewpoint?" I thought, "O.... M.... G...." what are they going to have people do next? Drink Kool Aid? Sell houses? Turn family members in? Be quiet as K Halls are sold? What will they be asked to do?
"New Light" is a card that the WT always holds in it's pocket, always ready to play. I could see them saying something like, "Just as in the last days of Jerusalem, the Jewish religion was not destroyed, so in our day it will be....... religions are NOT destroyed, but......" I can't even think like them anymore, but they are able to twist and turn ANY bible scripture into ANY 'new light' they need. They just need to "hint" at "great tribulation", gather their goods and be gone.

Yes, the article says that AFTER the attack on religion happens, such attack marks the great tribulation, so the preaching continues until such time. Thanks for the supporting scripture that I requested to see the basis from.
Thanks for the article. There is a point there which states that the attack is also upon the wt and because the days are cut short on account of the chosen ones, (cutting short means that the wt escapes. as it plays out) the wt is not destroyed along with BTH-but the wt is still attacked together with her.
Maybe they won't declare the great tribulation but that the ark door is shut. The dubs would get all fired up about giving the judgement message without the GB having to shoot the GT load. The risk of them ending up with even less credibility if they called the great tribulation would be too much.

bohm, I have also thought that maybe the GB was afraid to "do" anything except what they think they must do. Most were handpicked as yes men for Ted Jaracz and tend to just go along. And I got the same thought that they might panic when numbers and money dip too far.
redpilltwice, in my thoughts, the current GB buy enough time to prepare for disappearing to their tropical escape island.
OneEyedJoe, exactly. It'll be a long Great Tribulation. It would be the problem for a next generation of JW's to recover from this declaration.
