Why Are So Many JWs Ex-Catholic?

So Spanner, you are saying, why so many people who have already left the Catholic religion before they study with JWs become JWs, as opposed to people who considered themselves currently Catholics who leave only after studying with JWs and getting baptized. (???)

I understood once a Catholic, always a Catholic, unless they boot you, which hardly ever happens. Does that mean there are no ex-Catholics per the Pope? Are you considered an ex-Catholic when you send that little letter before being baptized as a JW to your church?

Little Witch we have to remember that Spanner is including the whole world and not just the US.

The fastest growing congregations are the Spanish congregations in the US so said the CO. Also the fastest growing congregations are in Spanish-speaking countries. I think outside the US the largest JW population is in Mexico.

    Spanner,

Firstly, that wasnt an argument, it was a response,

my response is, There are more Catholics in this country and most others, than Hindus, or Buddists.

The dubs acting in a missionary capacity tend to avoid countries where they meet stiff oppisition, i.e. Muslim countries.

Spanner, Hindus are not Christian. The JWs target the Christian "pool" more than anything because the grunt work has already been done. They already believe in Jesus Christ and the Bible. That's why Blondie's and Little Witch's reasoning is right on.

Obiwan, you don't know what you're talking about. 50 years ago no one got excommunicated for the things you mention. Where on earth did you come up with that?

All protestant based religions attack Rome. It's the nature of the beast. Gotta love the book "the two babylons". What a crock of shit posing as educated historical resoning.

Waiting, that was such a good point you made about the generation of the 60's and 70's. The only thing I disagree is that the Catholics are no longer a high control group. Catholics pretty much do whatever they want.

    Thankyou, Blondie.

I know. I am only speaking for myself, and what I know (the US)

The Catholic religion is the largest christian religion in the world, and Baptist are the biggest in the US. Thats all.

My point is, and I think the Jws target the easiest possible converts. I think they do one thing here, and maybe a different thing elswhere. Well, I dont think it, I know it.

That is why they have one set of rules here in the USA, and another set in someplace like, say, Eastern Europe, where the Ortodox Church is big. (they are allowed to celebrate Christmas for example) Or so I have read.

Here is an example of what I am saying. (or trying to say)

In America, there is this misunderstanding that blacks are welfare abusers.

But looking at demographics, and doing the math, that is bogus.

There are secluded inner cities, where the economy sucks, and that may be true, but taken on a whole, there are more whites in America than blacks, Thus, there are more whites on welfare than blacks.

See, it is a matter of looking at it micro, vs. macro.

Oh phoooey. I am just not good at words...

Many Catholic doctrines are hard to explain so they blindly accept them, which makes converting to a jw easy for them, it's just a new set of teachings that can't be reasonably explained although they are expected to - who said that? I said that.
