The Modern Nation of Israel is nothing short of a miracle. After being scattered to the four corners of the earth, losing their Hebrew language, and having survived numerous attempts of wiping them out, the Jewish people reestablished their nation of Israel after 2000 years of absence. It is simple mind-boggling.
Who has heard such a thing?
Who has seen such things?
Shall a land be born in one day?
Shall a nation be brought forth in one moment? - Isiah 66:8
It shall come to pass in that day that the Lord shall set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people who are left, from Assyria and Egypt, from Pathros and Cush, from Elam and Shinar, from Hamath and the islands of the sea. He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. (Isaiah 11:11-12)
Valley of Dry Bones Prophecy
“There was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them.
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”
So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.” (Ez 37:7-10)
“Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.’ Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of Israel… And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the Lord.” (Ez 37:11-14)
This event is UNIQUE in human history. The primary purpose of this event is to ready the Jewish people for the reestablishment of the throne of King David. This Davidic throne has been empty for some 2600 years when Zedekiah had his eyes put out by Nebuchadnezzar and was carried off captive.
Their promised King entered Jerusalem once before seated on a colt of a donkey. He was not treated very well at all at that time. And so, he stated the terms of his return:
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing! See, your house is left to you desolate. For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’” Mt. 23: 36-38
While Christians realize that their "blessed hope" is the rapture where (if alive at the time) they will be bodily carried to heaven as Jesus was, or (if already died) resurrected to heaven, they also realize that they are only "grafted in" to an already existing tree, the house of Israel. Christianity is not the root, only the branches.
After the rapture and during the murderous and earth shattering reign of the anti-Christ where perhaps billions will be slain through the wars that he starts in his quest for global dominion, Jesus waits patiently for his people to ask him nicely to return.
For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’” Mt. 23: 36-38
Israel is perhaps the safest place on earth. Because it will never again become uninhabited. Jesus was promised a nation, a kingship, and a people; and come hell or high water he's going to get it.
that the living may know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whomsoever he will and sets over it even the lowliest of men.’ - Daniel 4: 17
