Christians seem to have had a different perspective on love than their contemporaries which enabled them to grow crucially during the plague. Were it not for this critical juncture Christianity may not have come to,dominate in later centuries.

I don't want to claim that anyone is not a Christian but I must admit that I don't really get how the Americans who talk about things like 'taking our country back' and 'returning it to Christian values' often seem to think they have to get there by doing the opposite of what Jesus said to do i.e. 'love your enemies' 'welcome the stranger' etc... -
