Ex-Bethelite Testifies About Spying In Watchtower World Headquarters

I was just reading an August 5 comment by Bendrr about her car being gotten into at nights by someone who seemed to be getting information there instead of money. I commented that some elders go to extremes. I think most are law-abiding but then all of them do whatever the Watchtower says including when it comes to sending pedophiles to peoples doors.

Gary, I've had the same thing done. One night I spotted an elder from another congregation peeking through my mini-blind at me. He ran off and denied it, of course. This is serious business, not something to joke about Minimus.

I never EVER heard of anyone going "undercover" to check things out. Sounds very silly to me.

While this may not go on in alot of congregations, believe me, it happened in mine. One of our elder body got caught fooling around with his best friend's wife. This guy was evil to the core, sneaky and devious as a snake in the grass and I truly believe he had a split personality. So well did he cover his ass that the rest of the elder body backed him up 100%. Even though this elder had actually admitted to others that he had committed adultery, anyone who tried to report this to the rest of the elders were immediately reprimanded, one person was publically reproved for "malicious slander" and more than a few saw this elder's car parked outside of their homes on several occassions, or saw him following them around.

The guy is a complete psychopath, IMO and he will stop and nothing to try and discredit and destroy anyone who he feels can do him damage. But seeing as he's at all the meetings and auxilary pioneers, then the elders can overlook a tiny wee mistake like adultery, conspiracy and lying.

Stillajwexelder - Welcome and do be cautious of what information you give out online.

As for this thread - I haven't been around this site long enough but agree it's a bogus story just to get people to jump to another site.

Spies - Now I understand my parent's need to order all the JW CD's and clear our their DVD collection. I'm not surprised and would venture a guess it all really depends on the congergation and the elders to keep their 'flock' on the path.

All Elders watching this board - I understand your need to control however there's a little thing we were given when created ... Free Will. People do what they preceive is in their best interst and so there're concerns JW's have and non-JW's have regarding your organization in which YOU have not able to completey answer . If you were, then this wouldn't be necessary...would it?

Hey not only Big Brother is watching but so is Big Sister....

Zoe, now this is odd . You called it bogus then seemed to say the opposite? Why ? A lot of us know it's true and as the saying goes, why not call a spade a spade. Some of the elders d o spy and in the worst of ways. It probably goes on among Catholics and Pentecostals too. Or wherever there's the chance of prison time from covering up crimes like pedophilia.

Why exactly are you soooooo very curious, along with fleet#44, in hearing other peoples' stories of "spying" by elders?

Got an agenda you'd like to tell us about??

    Love, Scully

Lots of us are interested in this including Randy Watters who puts out this book.

Letters to the Editor-Book Two: 1989 to 1995 - $14 Almost twice as many pages as the first, with more of the same heartrending, humorous and exciting stories! Spying by other Jehovah's Witnesses, sex scandals, suicide and divorce. Many who now have a new life! 148 pages, 81/2 x 11. Let2-14

It's true! The WT actually has a training farm for spy tactics. I attended and learned some valuable sleuthing. What do you think those elders carry in those big bookbags? It certainly ain't books! It's their spy supplies!

Yeah, I found them waiting in a car outside my apartment... they were waiting for me to get home so they could find out if I really did do something as awful as donate some blood.

Funny isn't it... JWs can use blood fractions, but cannot donate blood.

There used to be a lot of this in years past - involving adultery accusations. Elders would get volunteers to sit outside someone's

home so that they would have witnesses that an accused person "spent the night" with someone else. My wife once

volunteered to take a shift doing this many years ago.

Guys who were "up" for being Bethel speakers might have their rooms searched -- as well as others who were under

suspicion by the Home Office. If you didn't want your porn discovered, you could hide it tied to a string in an air duct

in a bathroom down the hall, so it wouldn't be found in your room.

I don't know that much of this happens these days because elders can df just about anybody for any reason

and get away with it because , unless you're one of the 'nomenklatura', the Society doesn't care - or even follow

its own rules. Witness the recent whistleblower df'ings.
