Fisherman - "Shunning is not evil when it is an attempt to change the conduct of a beloved family member on the road to death and depravity."
Okay.
So, how come you aren't shunning us?

Fisherman - "...Some people are just fanatics (self righteous)..."
...he said, without a trace of irony. :smirk:
Fisherman - shunning is evil because it is an attempt to manipulate someone who isn't doing what you think is best. People need to grow and learn and form their own beliefs. The shunning practiced by JWs is nothing more than cultish control over people's lives.
@ just fine...
I'll simplify it even further.
Shunning is what high-control groups use to prevent their members from finding out they're wrong.
I disagree on any religious ban being bad. Religious practices that coerce, force, or infringe on ones right as long as not hurting others to do as they please and be judged by god alone, not men of the religion, then they deserve to be banned. I applaud russia for standing up to human rights on this.
@vidiot - I also think it shows extreme arrogance in thinking JWs know what is right for me, you, everyone on the planet. And that they decide who God judges worthy.
