July 26 New York Post has video of lower Manhattan with cop cars being destroyed b, fires being set and destruction by mobs. Take the time to view this terrible situation happening In nyc. Do you think they are superimposing NYPD POLICE CARS on the vehicles and dressing people to look like uniformed NYPD officers?? Get over your “offense” and open up your eyes. Geesh!

NY44M - NYC - one of my faves and I could live there in a nanosecond or would have before the news. Not too peaceful in some cities but I've stopped watching for the most part. I recall mostly window crashing and designer items being snatched - there's been so much for couple mos. I know the same thing was going on in Santa Monica's nice shopping area. It's hard to imagine. There are several fires around the country during the "peaceful protests," which seem to evolve into riots and destruction. Scary.

I can imagine the restaurant/bar, small shops having difficult time in these places. Tough times here, also, and I think the strip is open for gaming but who would want to be here if the restaurants/bars are closed down. I'm sure some have to remain open inside the mammoth hotel/casinos. I think we're only on Phase 2 of reopening.

My point was that New Yorkers live their lives. The sky is not falling, at least not from violence in the streets, as you suggest. The city is truly affected economically - very sad and disturbing. But this is a different conversation from what is suggested in this thread.

What major city is not going through some problems of sorts ?

Things will get better eventually particularly when a vaccine is distributed for this stupid virus.

The 'lefties' don't want it to be referred to anything but "peaceful protests" when they're really riots with fires/destruction. Residents in Seattle received letters to be prepared to protect themselves - that's comforting and one resident left to get over to Bainbridge and the other one got out of there fast and back to Vegas. That's three residents - one owning Manhattan property and 2 in downtown Seattle and they are extremely concerned. These 'protestors' want no law and order. I don't know anyone in Manhattan - my friend is in Long Island and staying as far away from their Manhattan palace as possible while this is ongoing.

Antifa, BLM, and every other thug group related to the Dem party playing war in the streets. Perhaps some independents along with the "commies," socialists that want more handouts. Certainly needs to be some military that are allowed to stop the war. How much more can the slave class (working class, tax-paying stiffs) pay for.

If they want free health care Canada is close by. Canada is not going to provide the social benefits they get in US.
