The left will destroy itself. Eventually. As the previous posters mentioned the best is to avoid those areas if it is possible to do. Leftist ideology is to go soft on crime because a group is underprivileged. I’ve heard the complaints that there are no grocery stores in inner city neighborhoods. There is probably good reason as it is not profitable for the store to operate with rampant thievery. Stores close, marginalized people suffer more and the woke crowd lack the critical thinking ability to understand that their policies made the problem worse. The other problem with shoplifting is that confronting a shoplifter is a safety hazard if someone got hurt.There will be a lot of retail deserts where there are no businesses for miles as it just won’t be worth it to own a store.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Police believe two customers shot an armed robber at a GetGo on the northeast side of town this evening.

Police received a call around 6:30 p.m. about an armed man attempting to rob the convenience store, located near the intersection of Pendleton Pike and Shadeland Ave. Police say the man arrived at the GetGo in a stolen vehicle. When the man pulled out a gun, police believe two armed customers fired multiple shots at the suspect.

IMPD found the suspect in critical condition from a gunshot wound. EMS transported him, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Many looters have weapons. Hard to stop someone from smashing your windows in when a mob attacks and who knows what else they have on them.

Unfortunately everything that happens in the U.S. gets politicized. There are 2 sides playing a malevolent game - Conservative/Right Wing/Republican/Red vs Liberal/Leftists/Democrat/Blue. Whenever anything happens one side or the other draws a line in the stand, and then makes an inflammatory claim against the other side.

Protests erupted across the United States in the spring of 2020 over the George Floyd incident in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The protests covered by the major news media outlets happen to be in major urban cities. Many of these protests turned violent with arson and looting ensuing.

In those jurisdictions District Attorneys refused charges made against persons criminal charged. Groups raised money to pay bail set for persons criminal charged. The reason given - these are "protesters of police violence." The reality - politics. Politicians care about 2 things - getting elected and getting re-elected.
