Could we ever see a GB member disassociate?

Read this book and then you will understand why it is highly unlikely that a current member of the Governing Body(tm) would disassociate himself.

Even with all of the incentives to stay; the social, the financial security and the power wielding, I think it likely that one or two of them will be awake to TTATT. As a historical norm, leaders of all sorts and most especially religious ones have cared more about status than personal integrity.

I think that it is quite likely that one of the JW GB has awoken to the fact that they are not exclusively chosen by God as Jackson has already publicly announced. The rule for govenors is to govern...this does not go hand in hand with heartfelt belief. Because they demand things from the compliant flock does not mean they are "true believers" themselves. They are dutifully playing the role they were entrusted with namely to keep the WTBTS on the rails and bringing in the cash.

Sometimes I wonder if Sydlik and Swingle and others were awake or nearly awake, but because of this, stayed on board.

Ray said that when he became a gb member that ,"illusions there met up with reality"! When one wakes up to ttatt, we have that same experience. Being a dub is a life long pursuit of illusions!

Back to the OP though, none of the current gb dudes have enough ambition to leave. They are all just fat f*#king lazy cats that "have it made in the shade" so to speak. Some may one day wake up to ttatt (maybe already have) BUT they saw what happened to Ray and they are not going to trade their life of celebrity for one of poverty!

    just saying!

I would put my money on a sex scandal before any crisis of conscience by any of those men.

    I say no.

But then in May 1941 Rudolph Hess flew away from Nazi Germany when it was right at the peak of its power.

I don't suppose we'll ever fully know why.

Let's take the youngest GB member, Sanderson, for example. What is that lard ass going to do if he leaves?? I'm younger than he is, better looking, in shape, have decades of real world/work experience, and I can't find a job! Why? No degree! Millennialists with mountains of debt, no practical experience, and no drive are getting hired all over! Meanwhile, D-Dog can't find a damn job!!

If I can't get a job, what will that fat f*** do if he leaves???

I think it would take some outside pressure.

    Fear of persecution maybe?

I dont think they could be tempted away...

I think they would have to be smoked out by fear of something.

That said, I dont think anything will happen - nobody cares enough about them to persecute them.
