How has offending become the worst crime of the 21st century? Actually, forget being offensive, just telling the truth that may be uncomfortable or offensive.

I regret my nations decision to leave the European Union but not because the EU gets everything right. This is a classic example.

This is disgraceful. Another example of a phenomenon which I call the regressive left. It's regressive, because in an effort to effect progress in tolerance and acceptance, they are actually achieving regress. The only way that Islam will become something close to what christianity is today - a mere comforting religion - is by open discussion, admitting the wrongs and the clear connection between the religious dogma of Islam and the terrorist acts we see around the world.

You are offensive: You are the worst

You are a terrorist: Lets not hurt your feelings or anyone who shares your values

    Regressive indeed.

Didn't realise that the EU is making this regulation. Wow. I hope The Express is wrong on this.

I've read that Sweden has a policy of not releasing details of criminals (http://www.spectator.co.uk/2016/01/its-not-only-germany-that-covers-up-mass-sex-attacks-by-migrant-men-swedens-record-is-shameful/).

Of course, the regressive Left do make certain links when it suits them, e.g. brexit and racism. The hypocrisy of the regressive Left is quite something.

Muslims have been cosseted and infantilised since the Rushdie affair in 1989. The British establishment should have nipped that in the bud but lacked the courage to do this. The result is that immediately after a terrorist attack, the concern often isn't for the victims but for possible Islamophobia that may or may happen afterwards.

perhaps it might be for the best..as it'll will deny the terrorist Muslim the limelight of martydom.....since they seem to thrive in committing attrocities and claiming 'responsibility'....just a thought..

Incredible how many "gas explosions" there have been around Europe in recent months.

How can a problem be solved unless we name it? ISLAM is the fucking problem!

How will the Governments get people on board to accept the target amount of Muslim refugees when the press go around calling out Islam when calling out Islam makes many people nervous about accepting large amounts of muslim refugees. Not saying calling out muslim terrorists is either good or bad -maybe yes maybe no, just wondering about the ulterior motives on the part of the Governments and the EU.

As far as i can tell, this story is actually about a report and has absolutely nothing to do with any particular piece of EU legislation which could limit free speech.

...not that I would expect the British pro brexit lala press to understand that distinction

No different to the US declaring a beheading a "workplace incident".

Bend-over-backwards apologetics isn't going to solve anything and also isn't going to prevent resentment and bad-feeling, it's going to help to create it.

But it's the express ... they like to peddle in anything that promotes "Europe is evil" in order to further the UK Independence Party - the morons who orchestrated Brexit based on lies and false promises.
