It is the flagship title of Express Newspapers, a subsidiary of Northern & Shell (which is wholly owned by Richard Desmond). The tabloid was launched in broadsheet format in 1900. In May 2015, it had an average daily circulation of 432,076.[1]
The Daily Express has become a supporter of UK Independence Party (UKIP),[2][3][4] acting as a financial backer and closely follows the party line.
