Being Removed From Facebook and Twitter

I think companies like Twitter and Facebook are incredibly powerful and have tremendous influence over how people think and their access to information. There comes a time when they are a whole other entity to regular online sites and need more rigorous regulation. It is a form of party contributions.

Look at Brexit. It was practically pulled off by Facebook ads (There was a scandal because there is a limit to how much money a political party can spend on advertising on a campaign in the UK. Facebook ads cannot be traced or counted, based in the states too)

The losing side always blame the media for their own failures. It happened with Indy Ref and with Brexit. It's similar to the way losing football managers always think the referee had a bad day.

Having said that, it is now beyond all doubt that the print media, the movie industry, TV and social media have a strong left-wing bias.

Facebook continue to deny responsibility by claiming that they are only a platform. That is not sustainable if they continue to make these editorial decisions.

Min - I have a very good friend who has been banned from Facebook simply because he makes remarks positive about President Trump and negative toward the Democratic Party. He has tried to get back on Facebook and it appears there is no way for him to return.

Depends what he says I suppose.

It seems weird how some lefties say that FB is pro right and some righties say FB is pro left.

I ignore the political BS on FB. USA politics is irellevant to me and UK politics is now being really exposed as corrupt.

I saw a hat that made me smirk...'Brexiteers for Trump'.

Although I'd never wear it , nor am interested in the politics of it......it did amuse me for how annoying it could be for people.

...but then, I am a Punk.

FB has affected elections. They are interfering with elections by censorship of conservative thought.

Many years ago, they recognized the power that media companies had over elections, print media at the time. Because of this they limited how many one person could own so that their affect could be curtailed with the idea that it would make things "fair".

The new media companies change the game entirely. Now one company can have a far bigger influence over an election because they control the message, and that control clearly has a bigger political bias than ever.

it's time for the playing field to be levelled.

I have to say that I have seen this type of censorship with my own eyes in two ways:

1 - What I have noticed in FB lately is that any posts that appear on my feed that are criticisms of Biden or anything on the left, will have a fact check section right below the post linking to a website that attempts to discredit that criticism. Now, this perhaps this would seem like a good idea, until you realize this is only done in favor of Biden and it's done across the board on every criticism. So basically if you were to believe FB, every single criticism of Biden is false, and deserves fact checking, and every single criticism of Trump is true. I have yet to see one criticism of Trump that is complemented with some fact checking.

2 - Facebook actively censors even posts. I replied to a post recently about the protests where I made the point that BLM and much of the protests are centered around Marxist ideology. I received several replies to my comment where we exchanged some comments and where I supported my comment with facts and data. In less than 5 minutes after my initial post, my comment and all the replies were gone and unavailable to comment anymore. They magically disappeared, which I was baffled that it was removed so quickly. Of course all other comments in the main thread were still there, but mine was gone.

But.... if you wanted to negatively comment on Trump it’s not touched by the moderators. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘Ž

1925 – Propaganda - a book written by Edward Bernays. He was Freud's nephew. It is about the engineering of consent. As the country becomes more democratic, you cannot run it like you used to, as a private club so you have to control what people think. Therefore, the public relations industry started. Leading figures were from the Creel Commission. Edward Bernays was the leading light and he was hired to make Rockerfeller's image look better. In this time period the word 'propaganda' just meant 'information'. Bernays applies the lessons of the first World War. During that period the propaganda (information) system showed that it is possible to "regiment the public mind every bit as much as an army regiments their bodies." These new techniques of regimentation of minds, he said, had to be used by the intelligent minorities in order to make sure that the "slobs" stay on the right course.
